The Concept

Nine of Ulf's original composotions have been arranged for Gospel Choir by Krister Lundkvist.

A Gospel Choir gets to repeat as much as they want, then there are a few rehearsals with Ulf and the band - and some musical coaching about live appearance,.

The first concert wass done in cooperation with GOSPEL LUKAS under the leading of Thérèse Löf . The concert was held at: Högalids Kyrka June 1st 2003. Documentation in video is available.

The concert is a tribute to music, life and joy - with Ulf Sandströms personal thoughts and questions about our relation to music and religion here and in other countries. A memorable and lighthearted experience for the joyful.

The Music

True Love
True love has nothing to do with chemistry - it is a matter of the mind. Set it to "true" mode and your love is true. This doesn't mean that you can't be attracted - the trueness is when you realise it and back off in time.

Three Cool Cats
A small town somewhere in the outskirts - not much happening - never anything happening - most people mind their own business and drink some - news spreads - boogie boy is back in town.

Running Back
The only way you can test unconditional love is by - unconditional love. Set what you love most free - if it comes running back you'll see.

Love Patrol
We behave like teenagers way past 30. Single in the big city. Dressing up and getting the "look" for the "hunt". Patrolling for love in the neon lights. Realising a firm body, money and looks don't guarantee nothing.

Love On My Mind
Sitting at the kitchen table with a wax table cloth and only two drops of whiskey left - memories of you keep haunting my mind - I wish myself back - and I know why it won't work. Sweet bitter memories.

Bauer Mood
The deep scandinavian woods have lakes where the mist hovers all day and all night - where the crawfish jump unto the shore and cook themselves so you can drown them in troll snaps.

Lay Me Down
Finally the decadent dying dandy realises that he is at the end of his rope.

Growing Old
Lord have mercy - aging seems to be a sweet thing - and being grown up is realising it and savouring every moment. Boo for being young.

The reason the first concert is done in cooperation with Gospel Lukas is that we have appeared at the same festival some years ago - and liked each others music. A decision was formed together with choir leader Therese to make a pilot project together.

Each song is chosen by Therese, Krister and Ulf trying to get a wide mix that offers both amateur and professional choir singers a varied level. The comments from Gospel Lukas rehearsals so far have been:

"It's great to do something different like this - the music feels great"

"It's fun to rehearse, sing and perform with the composer"

"It's great to get a "picture" for each song to relate to"

 

Tessan is a very experienced Choir Leader, and a quite a lead singer as well.
She is touring a lot with E-type 2003 (among other things).
