When Jump 4 Joy gigs on the Steamboat Blidösund we usually invite a guest artist that we would enjoy backing that night as a special treat to ourselves and the audience. These are a few of them:

 

Andras Systrar is a vocal group doing excellent Andrews Sisters material and some swedish stuff from the same period as well. We met in the Allmag Folkpark where mosquitoes have bitten beer drinking and dancing raggare since 1910. Check Swedish Culture

Ann Kristin is a very celeber and soulful singer with a range from soft jazz ballads to up-tempo r&b. We enjoyed having her as our guest on the Blidösund steamboat as well as on Jazzpub Stampen's packed concert stage upfloor. Always a pleasure Anki!

During 2000 New Orleans Pianist Tom McDermott toured the world in search of the New Orleans cultures as practised outside the US. We met in New Orleans in April 2000 during Jazz Fest through a tip of Jerry at the Louisiana Music Factory (great record shop) and invited Tom as our guest artist at Stampen and Blidösund (the two classic Stckholm gigs during summer). A sensational saxophone player, born in Uruguay and jumped a tour with a Cuban band in scandinavia to settle here. His Latin Lovers quartet and Big Band match the level of his own warm, energetic and soulful playing. Good fun Hector - especially your solo on Trouble in Mind...
