Konstigt!

In English 2/6 Hallo, dear visitors! My name is Dogvor and I am my mistress´ Better Half. You can think much better when you are a dog cant you? My mistress isn’t smart at all! She says that dogs are THE LIFE. You can hear when she says THE LIFE that it is spelt with very big letters. I think that food is THE LIFE. And to sleep in my mistress´ bed. Mostly when I have played with Anna, Britta, Tyra and Edit in our garden. Yet better is when we have had water-war in the big water-bowl. We are so lovely wet and dirty, and it is so wonderful to dry ourselves and get warm. Our mistress has a mattress which get warm with electricity so we can get dry very soon in her bed. But our mistress doesn’t understand us. Strange! Just now it is very empty at home. Anna has gone to Floprym Revolution at Annika H.s place. And Edit should meet with someone called Allydors Freddy Boy, our mistress said. I wonder why? We had so much fun climbing on each other and playing trains. I wonder if they should climb on another dog? Or should they go out searching for THE LIFE? 13/6 Anna and Edit have now came home again. They aren’t so fun to play with any longer. Playing trains isn’t fun any longer and they seems to think that they are something. When they not are resting they look at us as if they have made curious experiences. Perhaps they have met THE LIFE somewhere and not want to tell us. I just wonder! Sometimes Anna still plays water-war with us. Then she forgets her curiosity and have fun as usual. Tyra was invited to Vätö with our small fellows Elvira and Arba (Brittas Hh-puppies) and the old man Yesmond last Sunday. Then they ran about in the sea and played submarines so even I lost my breath. Our mistress got wet through – hihihi! We jumped as goats over fallen trees and stones and picked flowers for our mistress and had a party with pommes frites and hot dogs. Our mistress said that the flowers were picked too short. But she still put them in a glass to look at. No, now I shall go out and make fun with Britta again! Bye-bye everyone who loves the summer! 6/7 We have been literate dogs! I prefer biographies or detective stories, but the other dogs are satisfied with weekly papers. They got really happy when our mistress put some bunches with papers in the cellar. We all found something to read. But, of course, after a little while, the horrible little Tyra would go racing among us other dogs who sat calm and seriously reading You should hear our mistress soughing when she picked paper-pieces from the whole ground. But she laughed when Tyra with a shy smile handed her the last Readers Digest, not at all disturbed. Our cellar is great now, when the summer has got so warm. If we get hot, we can just go inside for a while. I think our mistress likes it too, because she only have to open the door above the stairs to the cellar morning and evening for us. She has got some kind of inflammation in her right legs muscles. She haven’t been able to walk or stand for the whole week. But we have been kind and not jumped upon her more than a couple of times. She shouted so badly when we did so, so we didn’t dare to try again. Now we are going to try to jump in her bed and listen if she cries again. I tell you next time how it went! 8/7 She did not cry so much – only a little. But you should have heard her when she tried to stand on her muscle-inflamed leg hooked under the apple-tree At first everything got silent, but then..! She murdered at lot of ants when the leg weakened and she landed on her left elbow in the home of the ants. There she had to lie with her elbow broken until her fellow could get an ambulance there. She was taken to the hospital in a hurry. She told us when she came home that the staff in the hospital had laughed a bit when they had to pick flowers and ants from our mistress and her bed. Now our mistress is home again with her arm hard as stone (what is that?) And we may not jump on her or go to the lake for a bath together with her for several weeks. How unfair can the life bee! I hope that I can tell something funnier next time. 6/8 Now our mistress only have a blue bandage on her elbow. She waves so funny with her arm. Sometimes she sits stretching it so it makes a unusual cry. Sometimes she bends it so the cry comes again. I don’t know if it is the arm or our mistress that cries. Our mistress prefers one of us now! Edit is allowed to be upstairs with her more than anyone else. Edit has gone so terribly fat. Sometimes her stomach bubbles! Do you think that it is THE LIFE that bubbles? In that case Anna hasn’t found THE LIFE, she isn’t fat at all and don’t have any bubble-belly. The only thing we dogs still are missing are the nice swimming in the lake and some walking in the woods. Our mistress have said that she has asked some fellows to take us to the lake, so it will come! We are taken for short walks with her picking flowers and that is great. The other day our mistress told Britta that she had become an aunt. Well, it was some weeks ago, but our mistress hadn’t seen the babies until then. The babies were rather alike Brittas own babies, she said. They still live with the lady that owns Brittas sister. Wasn’t it unfair that we not were allowed to come and play with those babies? 12/8 We have had a Big Life here. Wednesday and Tuesday we had three dog-fellows here with Elvira who is here for a vacation. We ran down flowers, played water-war as usual, bit on pieces of wood and old papers (which had been left from Tyras paper-fight) and didn’t listen at all when our mistress shouted for calmness in our group. The only thing she was able to get us listening to, was calling us to our meals. But she didn’t give us enough of food, we thought. Britta found a box full of dogs food and we tried to hide it from our mistress. Sometimes she is much faster than we are, so we didn’t get any extra meal. The night between Friday and Saturday she forgot to take ous in for the night. We lay in the cellar all the night and listened, because there were strange sounds upstairs. There were piping and growling. And our mistress said: “good” and “well done Edit” time after time. When we were allowed to come upstairs in the morning, Edit lay there with lots of babies around her. She growled at us and didn’t want us to come in. Britta said that our mistress was unfair giving all the babies to Edit. I wonder if Edit thinks that this is THE LIVE which has come? 1/9 THE LIFE or only LIVELY? You can hear piping and yellowing from the puppies room now and then. And our mistress sits in there hugging all the time. We are not allowed to hug puppies at all! Last Saturday Britta followed our mistress for a dog show. She said it was like heaven to be with our mistress all alone and not be able to see us for a whole day. She should know how fun we had with our mistress´ niece Susanna, her little dog “little Lass” and our veterinary Gunilla´s “E-T”. Anna was taken for a long walk while we other rested for a while. When our mistress came back home with Britta, we went for a swimming tour. Susanna was mostly under the water, so our mistress became terribly frightened and we had to swim out and find her. She was very fond of swimming so it wasn’t dangerous at all. She even won the water-race against Anna. Now Anna has got a disease from all the swimming so she has a strange thing round her neck and may sleep in our mistress´ bed every night. We also want to sleep in the same bed, but we don’t want that disease, it seems to be painful. Our mistress has been at home with us for a whole week now. She is going to be at home for a long time she says. Mostly she lies I her bed or goes slowly limping out in the garden. She seems to have pain in her back-leg. I thought she was X-rayed as we other with a good result. 4/9 Our mistress protested when we talked about the X-ray. She had a good X-ray when she was eight, she said. But now she had got an arthrosis she was told by her doctor. So if she had been a dog she had been forbidden to have puppies. It is good that she only has raised dogs puppies and not human puppies! She says that it sometimes feels lonely because we cannot answer her when she talks to us. But that only means that she doesn’t listen to us when we talk. We answer her and talk to her the whole time. Strange that she doesn’t understand us when we talk! She always seems to understand when we are going to make tricks to her. Only sometimes we manage to do our tricks. As today when she changed dipers on Edits puppies. It feels so good when you can do a real race with dipers in your mouth! We will comfort our mistress after her cleaning up and lick her on her nose when she lies in her bed reading a book! 16/9 Now we have been allowed to look at the puppies and smell at them. They are really cute, but Edit is too proud of them I think.! We are not allowed to go out in the wood either. Our mistress says that a wolf is living there. It was outside the neighbours house 20 meters from us trying to catch their cat and our Leo-cat. Bältgårdens dogs sent us greetings that the wolf had been outside their dogs-yard and teased them. It has been raining for some days, but today it is sunny. Our mistress is writing while we look after the puppies. They are in a small yard under the apple-tree (Where our mistress fell this summer) and sometimes sleeps and sometimes bites each others ears and yaps at each other. Our mistress has been in the woods for two hours today. She came home with lots of mushrooms. She said that she missed us today. We usually marks the mushrooms during rolling in them so she easily can find them. Now she had so search for herself. She also said that she tried to find out some kind of rope that she can tie round her and at least take two of us with her every time she is going out In that case the wolf wouldn’t hunt us, she thinks. I hope she can do something so we can follow her. Then we will scare the wolf so our mistress get calm again. Have a good time now! 22/9 Britta is the most honourable of the dogs now! Today she has been alone with our mistress again. But she came limping home and had hurt a toe in her left fore-leg. She had a meeting with her puppies and they had played too much sometimes. (Tyra said that she had seen Brita get stuck in the fence in our yard before she went, but Britta says it isn’t true.) Britta was so proud of her puppies when she came home. They had been both beautiful and kind she said. Our mistress´ friend Ulla trained them for showing and our mistress told them a little about fetching and carrying birds and soothing massage. Then they got sausages from all the people and they had searched meat-balls in trees.(how can meat-balls grow in trees? I have to look for that next time I can go out in the woods). It was a pity that all of the puppies couldn’t come, but they planned for a new meeting after the puppies have been one year old. I hope all the puppies can come then. Britta seems very tired just now. I wonder if her puppies are tired too? Some of them came from Örebro and from Dalarna so they had a long way home too. Now we will put our mistress into her bed, she seems to be most tired ! 28/9 How fast time goes! The puppies grow as if they get paid for growing. I think that our mistress gives them “Grow Up” or something in their food. Our mistress has seen that she has been unfair with sleeping in her bed and going out alone with her. Anna had her part when she had that terrible thing round her neck, and Edit when she had a bubble-belly. Britta was with our mistress both for the show, her puppies-meeting and her limping. Now Tyra is allowed to lie and talk “rubbish” with our mistress both in the sofa by the TV-set and for a long, long time every evening. You should hear Tyra talk! She yells and growls and sings at the same time. How much I have trained to sound like her! But I cant manage how much I train! Sometimes it sounds dangerous. But then our mistress tells Tyra to keep quiet. She cant behave bad or frighten people. Our mistress had some photos from the puppies-meeting. You can see them in the “album”. 2/10 Yesterday we had an important visitor here. The puppies´ father with his mistress was visiting us. All the puppies hunted their fathers tail (Well not everyone at the same time)! Daddy Freddy smiled a big smile and put his ears high upon his head and had a great time with his children. He seemed to be very proud of them. Freddys mistress took a lot of photos of them. I hope we can see them later on. We will ask our mistress to show them to you in the “album” Today Tyra has looked after the puppies in the garden and at the same time trained not to be scared of tents. But she said that she never was afraid of tents, she only pretended to be to scare our mistress. She hoped our mistress not should hear what she said, because she wanted to be with our mistress instead of being with us. Our mistress have told us that the puppies are going to the vet. To get green numbers in their ears tomorrow. I wonder if they will yell then? I didn’t yell at all when I got my number – in spite of what the others say about me.See you next time (so our mistress says when she goes away – I wonder what she means?) ! 8/10 The number of puppies in the puppies-yard goes down. Sometimes a family come for a visit, and then a puppy is gone from their yard. At first we believed that everyone came to see us but then we understood that they wasn’t interested in us at all. But we wonder where all the puppies go? Edit has been allowed to say goodbye to them and she told us that all the people seemed to be nice, and they had promised to love her puppies. So we have to trust her – everything will be good. Our mistress neighbour and the two small boys (Who were 5 years today – congratulations Elvis and Christian!) have had a lesson with the puppies today. They trained to have a collar round the neck and to walk down the stairs. It seemed to be hard to go with four strings criss-crossing and four red pieces of wool running here and there. But they didn’t seem to be anguish anyone. They only seemed to have fun. Next lesson they are going to go further than the garden. They mustn’t go to the woods and meet the wolf! 21/10 We have had lots of fun in our garden for a while. Arba is here for a while. She was very disappointed when her mistress and master left her here. “When my lad Yesmond and I should start playing train and have lots of fun” she said. We have to please her and play with her instead. She wont play with one at a time. She absolutely want us to play all together. That didn’t go so well when old Tara came for a visit. She became tired of the little kid, so our mistress had to comfort Tara by sleeping alone in our mistress´ bed. We had more fun when Arba´s sister came for the day while our mistresses were visiting Gimo´s market. We were busy playing the whole day. We were sleeping so deep that we snored the whole night our mistress said. Our mistress is going to a surgery for her eyes soon I heard. We have to look out when she has had her surgery. She will be able to see much better when we are going to make a trick to her afterwards. We had better make many tricks before the surgery. 31/10 Our mistress is unfair!!! She bought a lot of chewing bones, but gave them away! We didn’t get one to chew. Isn´t that unfair? She says that her fellow Kerstin´s new puppy needs them better, so she wont bite and chew on her older fellows as she has done before. If it is true that she is so evil to Kerstin´s old dogs we accept it. They are our best friends too. We have to ask Skorpan, Jenny and Gloria to punish the puppy´s biting when we see them again.Today our mistress went to the vet. with the puppies and Britta and Edit. They had an injection each in their necks. We have to get an injection every year, no-one injects our mistress in her neck now and then! Yesterday we ran off everyone! An old man who visited our yard for a work and didn’t shut the fence and we saw that at once. Our mistress looked scared to death and the old man in his car had to run and shout for us and then our mistress yelled at him, poor man. We had fun for only ten minutes, then we were locked up again. Next time we will run faster… 5/11
Our mistress has too small living-room! When she had all the pillows from
her caravan all her dry clothes from her washing up and some more things
there, we had too small space for our playing. We had about 8m2
surrounded by flowers, tables, chairs, TV, computer and the things I told
you before. Not much you see! Yesterday we still played there. Our
mistress played too. And the three remaining puppies, wet through after
the rain outdoor. We had lots of fun everyone. Not one flower or any
other thing crashed! Our mistress said we were terribly good.Today
the puppies have seen snow for the first time. “Terrible!! Wet and cold
is falling upon us!! Come and fetch us mistress!!” they shouted as loud
as they could. What a luck that our neighbour Maj-Lis who was sleeping
after her night-job has her bedroom opposite our garden. Otherwise she
had woke up and had helped our mistress to take the puppies inside very
fast. I hope the puppies will learn very fast that snow is very fun. We
think so! Hunting snow-flings is a great fun! Now I am going out hunting
some more! 9/11
How good it is to chew on balls of wool! If we can take our mistress´
knitting and go racing round all chairs and tables it purrs so funny in
the mouth when the knitting breaks down. Our mistress gets mad when we
have had knitting-play.The other day our mistress should buy new wool for
a jumper. SHE GOT LOCKED UP IN THE STORE!!! The owner of the store locked
it up and went to the hairstylist without seeing that our mistress was
left. Just imagin that our
mistress not had found her in the corridors behind the store! Then we had
to be without our mistress for a long, long time. We have better not
destroy this knitting, so we can keep our mistress. Next time perhaps she
will be locked up for good. She still is rather good to have at home! 14/11Noah´s
ark has come home! Yesterday a big tractor came with our neighbour´s
big boat behind outside our yard. We really wondered what a big
house there came wagging by. We thought that the boat should push our
mistress´ caravan into our yard so we barked as much as we could to get
our mistress out for help. But when we saw Noah himself (pardon, the
neighbour Sven-Olov) check that the boat really had enough of space, we
calmed down. At that time our mistress already was outside to move her
caravan so she really listen to us when we shout for her.The
puppies we have left grows like flowers. They have learnt to go without
lead to and fro the puppies-yard, hunt cats both outside and inside the
house, break the fence to their yard and make the whole house look like a
battery field. Well done, isn’t it? 16/11
The puppies Bruno and Moses are going to start playing soccer. Today
they trained with our mistress´ grapes. They had one each and put them
here and there and everywhere in the living-room. After a while they ate
the grapes, but then they got new ones. Our mistress laughed so she
hiccoughed when they rushed around like busy soccer-players. Moses
started to throw them into the players yard with all his strength. But,
what a pity, he climbed on the grape so it crashed. It was a horror to
get wet on his feet! Bruno had to eat it up, Moses couldn’t manage
eating it. To eat a dead grape, that’s terrible, he said. Now
our mistress soon is ready with the jumper she is knitting. We hope she
wont go to the store for more wool and get locked up again. We want her
at home at least when we will have our food! And you don’t know how
long time she will be locked up next time!
21/11
Today our mistress came home with more wool. And we didn’t even know
she was going to buy more today. But she came home, thank God! On the
other hand she is going on with her unfair doings. She has made a
marvellous new room in the cellar for the puppies. New paint on the floor
with red and yellow spots on. A bluish bed full of toys and even a table
and a chair in there. The puppies don’t think there is something
special with the room, but we big ones want to be there. She has promised
that we will inherit the room from the puppies when they have left. I
hope they will leave soon, it seems to be good to be in that room 27/11
Now only Bruno is left from all the puppies who have lived here. That
little fussy one has even begun sleeping with us in our mistress´
bedroom. We had been promised to have that fine room in the cellar when
the puppies had left us because it was so cute. Well, well, we have got
that room! But it isn’t quite so good there any more. Our mistress has
taken all the toys away and moved the chairs. The table and the bed is
left behind, but no wonderful mats or funny toys. “You only make fuss
about the toys and bite holes the mats” our mistress said. I wonder how
she has got that knowledge? Bruno is a good boy when he needs to go to
the loo. Even the other night when he didn’t manage to wake our
mistress up, he managed to pass the fence at the bed-rooms-door and made
what he had to, at the outer door. When he afterwards couldn’t manage
do get in again, our mistress woke up. But Brunos´ howling could
even had woke up a stone. Look at the Puppies side to see Bruno.
He is both cute and funny. Mostly! We don’t like when he tries to have
our food instead of his own. We sound like ugly thunder-clouds our
mistress says. But you have to when you nearly is starving to death and
that little rat tries to… 8/12
Our mistress has been away without us! We think that we are the most
necessities in our mistress´ life, and then she goes away without us.
Our neighbour Maj-Lis felt pity for us and gave us food and let us out
and hugged us and kissed us and… So we still had a good time. But we
wont tell our mistress. She was in Mora visiting her brother with family
and some old fellows from her childhood, she said. She saw Santa Claus
too. He was in Mora for Christmas shopping and not here. We wanted to
bite his beard and throw all the Christmas presents so the papers would
be over the hole place flying around us. There was a lot of snow in Mora
too. There is no snow here now. It´s raining cats and dogs so we cant be
upstairs making fuss. It´s rotten isn´t it? Bruno was away too. He had
been in Öregrund at Torsten´s , Helena´s and Anna´s place. And all
the dogs in Öregrund! The funniest one was the old golden uncle Jerk. If
you take his ear between your teeth and then throw yourself backward
without loosing the ear your mouth will be full of his hair going round
and round. With the uncles Elmer and Ebbe and big brother Evert you have
to be much calmer. They could say something ugly if you play too much.
The best time were the nights. It was really good to sleep between Helena
and Torsten in their bed. So you mustn´t
pity Bruno either for our mistress being away. But our mistress
must not know about it-she have to be ashamed of going away without
us!This week we have to make very much fuss. Our mistress´ niece and her
little dog will be here to help our mistress. We will have fun! We send
you some messages later! 16/12 Now Susanna and her little Sammet have been here and gone too. And we didn’t make so much trouble either. Both our mistress and Susanna said that Sammet was too small and sweet to be with us in the swampy dogs-yard. Just for checking we had to push the cellar-door open and push Susanna over so we could rush up into the hall and look. And what did we see if not a little sweet sheltie-puppy! We hastily calmed down and greet her very carefully. Our mistress and Susanna were right, she was too small to make trouble with. She was good in getting our mistress and Susanna to work. I don’t know what she said to them, but both our mistress and Susanna have nailed, raked and scrubbed the whole week so the house, our dogs-room and the dog-yard is shining. Our mistress has even got new-washed carpets upstairs. Those we will throw around and away in a little while. Now life is like it almost is again. Arba, Jesse and Elvira is visiting us today. Bruno really likes old Jesse and follows him wherever he goes. They look like “Helan and Halvan” in the movies our mistress says. We think that they is mostly like a big, big sausage followed by a tiny piece of the same sausage. It still sounds to taste better! 24/12
WE HAVE SEEN SANTA CLAUS!!!!! He passed outside our yard this
morning with a big sack full of parcels. We barked as much as we could
but he only went on. He disappeared beside our neighbours house. Some
time later our mistress came from them but no Santa Claus! We think that
our mistress frightened him away! We hoped to get lots of parcels but we
fooled ourselves. Just because our mistress frightened him away we
revenged by stealing her Christmas fish which she had laid in water.
Guess if she ran after us! We didn’t manage to get one little piece
from the fish. Well we have had Christmas eve too. Extra with food with
extra ham, Christmas cookies and lots of Christmas paper to play with and
spread all over the floor. We have played in lots of Christmas snow while
our mistress tried to get her new car out from all the snow she drove
into. (Our mistress
got it free) Tonight we found something in a bag that looked like Santa
Claus´ beard. Where did Santa Claus go?? We will try to steal the beard
and throw it apart, then we think Santa Claus will come and yell at us so
we can see him properly. 28/12
Just talk about snow!!! We have so much snow to play in so we almost
drowns in it. Our mistress have to shovel the snow away from the
cellar-door and pick snow and ice from the chink of the door and brush
until she almost gives it up. She says that we trample the snow there on
purpose to tease her, but she is wrong. We throw us to the door and
shouts of joy as soon as we hear a sound from the inside. There always is
someone we can love hard and hot in there. Cats, rats or our mistress
doesn’t manage!! And then all the snow only comes down! It
will soon be a New Year our mistress says. I hope we will get more toys
then (and more times to make trouble). Just now we can hear the neighbour
with his tractor and snow-plough, so we have to bark at him for a while.
You can look at some summer-photos on Bruno´s daddy with puppies instead!
They are on the side called “Album”.
