Kerrang #48 (Donington Special issue August 1-24)
"The new album, 'Born Again', has got the rawness of early Sabbath. I've said for quite a while that we were going to go back to the old ways, because we did lose a bit of anger and belief on our road, it got a bit tame, but it's not really worked out until now when we've gone in and done it like we did the early stuff - rough. There's a lot more energy these days, we've got that fight in us again to want to do it and do it honestly, and Ian has been a tremendous boost. We're very pleased..."

TONY SAYS:
"Again, Ian joining was a move that didn't really work, but in our defense we really didn't want to call it Black Sabbath. But we couldn't get away from it. It was a difficult album because we all had problems, Bill had a major one with alcohol at the time. He'd been off it for some time but he started drinking again during the making of the album!"

"There are some good songs but the production is awful - really huffy, due to two amps blowing in the monitor system and nobody noticing."

"The Reading gig killed the band, although I didn't mind doing 'Smoke On The Water' with Ian. We'd had to bring in Bev (Bevan, excel) to replace Bill at the last minute, and he hadn't played that kind of heavy stuff since he was in The Move! It got much better as we went through America, but nobody saw that."
