
- Liam got the name Oasis from an Inspiral Carpets poster in he and
Noels room that advertised the Carpets upcoming show at the Swindon
Oasis Leisure Centre.
- Liam repeatedly asked Noel to form a band with him. It would have been called "The
Gallagher Brothers." Liam instead joined Rain, which then became Oasis.
- Oasis has only played one gig without Noel, that one being their
first gig on August 18, 1991. Noel was in the audience to see the show. He joined the band
shortly thereafter. Oasis has played several concerts without Liam
- Bonehead and Guigsy were in two bands before Oasis. Pleasure in
Pain, which featured Bonehead on keyboard, and Rain, which became Oasis after Liam joined
and changed the name.

Anger, Noel let Liam choose which one Liam wanted to sing. Liam, of course, chose Wonderwall,
much to the chagrin of Noel, who wanted to sing it since it was about his
girlfriend.
- Contrary to the myth, Meg isnt the girl on the cover of Wonderwall,
its Amanda, a staff member at Creation Records.

- Liam believes that the spirit of John Lennon is inside of him. He
says that a few years ago he had a out-of-body experience and it was then that
Lennons spirit entered him.
- Noel once said he wanted to be remembered as someone who did daft
things, supported a crappy football team, wore great shoes, and did it.
- Guigsy suffered an acute exaustion in the fall of 1995, forcing
him to miss out on part of the tour and miss a taping of the Late Show with David
Letterman. Since the replacement bassist left the tour days before the taping,
Bonehead played bass when Oasis played Morning Glory on Letterman.
- When he was young, Noel and his friends once stole a fully laden
milk truck. They were apprehended by the police shortly thereafter.
- Noel and Liams dad once got £10 a night working as a
country and western DJ at a social club. Their mom once worked as the lunch lady at Noel's
secondary school, much to his dismay.
- Noel had a hard time learning how to play guitar at first. His
teacher made him play left handed (since he is left handed). It was only after he started
playing right handed that it all made sense.
- The Mr. Sifter in Shakermaker is the name of
Noels favorite record store when he was growing up.
- Noel attended his first concert when he was 13. He saw The Damned
at the Manchester Apollo.
- Guigsy and Noel used to play football at the same park. Guigs was
a great player, Noel was a lazy one. Guigsy, once said that At the end of every game
you would see all these dead cigarette butts where Noel had been standing.
- The Swirled Oasis logo was first painted on a wall of
the practice studio the band rented during their early days in Manchester.
- Noel once auditioned to be lead singer for the Inspiral Carpets
(on the same day as the Lockerbie bombing, coincedentally.) He didnt get the job,
but did end up as a roadie for the band.
- Guigsys dream was to play football for a professional team.
However, he tore a ligament in his knee during a game, destroying any hope of a
professional career. He instead turned to music.
- Paul Arthurs has been known as Bonehead since he was
seven or eight years old. While his schoolmates had long hair, he had his buzzed every
week. The name, and hairstyle, stuck.
- Bonehead once bicycled around Europe for six months. He then
returned home and soon bought a beat up Mazda van. Guigsy decorated the van in psycadelic
colors, and a picture the van found its way into a newspaper after Bonehead, Guigsy, and
their friends took it to a music festival.
