Recordings of The Soul Preachers The Correct Use Of Hope 12" EP recorded in spring 1988 Published: spring 1989 Heavy Breathing Records NOW-1 Still available on vinyl. includes the songs: Touch And Go The Harbour Of Love No Place To Go We'll Meet Again     The songs were all written by Jarmo Haapamäki, except "Touch And Go". The music to that one was written by Lars Carlsson and Jarmo Haapamäki, although it says otherwise on the record cover. The funny thing is that the bass player Dan Pettersson didn't see the record until much later. He moved up to north before the record was printed. Hannu did try to send some copies to him by the mail once but only the address coupon was delivered to him. Hannu didn't send him any new records. I don't know how he got his copies. The Soul Preachers sounds less aggressive, more middle-of-the-road on this record. It's good pop music. Still available. Get it from us!

Tracking A Slice Of Life An album of 13 pop songs Recorded in June 1990 in KAP-studio Katrineholm, Sweden. Never released. Thereby not available... includes the songs: Dirty Sheets At The End Of A Long Rope Almost Home You Can't Hurry Dawn Not Born To be Free Seven Feet Underground Waiting For A Run Seduce Me Tracking A Slice Of Life Conjugal Nightgown Served On A Broken Plate Girl With A Gun Don't Burn Your Lips   Even more pop than The Correct Use Of Hope. The recordings of these 13 pop pearls (...) should have ended up on the first album of The Soul Preachers, but... The album was never finished, partly because of the drummer boy's other band, Dirt. They used the studio a while right after The Soul Preachers were finished with the first raw mix. And guess what happened? The machinery got so fucked up that the studio engineers didn't bother to mend it anymore.   The album is still unfinished. Maybe the master tape lies somewhere. If found, the songs may end up on CD some day. The material is good. But miles away from the The Soul Preachers today. Much more sophisticated, softer. More pop.

Bull's Eye Four songs on a compilation-CD with four rock'n'roll bands in Sörmland, Sweden. Recorded at autumn 1992 Published: spring 1993 Sold out. includes The Soul Preachers' songs: Face Like Yours Tainted Love Borneo Don't Look Back   The songs were all written by Jarmo Haapamäki & The Soul Preachers, except "Tainted Love". It's a cover song. Soft Cell got a big hit with the song in the 80's but it's a 60's garage rock song, written by Ed Cobb.   This one's very aggressive, very fast and many people would call it punk rock. The Soul Preachers had many more, even quite different songs they could have recorded but after an election they decided to show their aggressive side on this record.   The recording session was short. The band bought a "package" of 40 hours and after they were finished with the four songs they had time left to record 13 (!) more. Many of the tracks were recorded on the same day as the Bull's Eye songs. The band saved many already paid hours in the studio and returned a couple of months later with a whole bunch of new songs to record.
