Setting Your Preferences

The preferences in Claris Home Page contains six sections:

  1. General
  2. Images
  3. Browser Preview
  4. Fonts
  5. HTML Editing
  6. HTML Output

General

The General preferences you may customize to your connivance. I use the defaults as is.

Images

In the Images preferences all the check box options shall be selected. The "Converted Images Folder:" is only used when "Prompt for Name/Location" is not selected. Then your images are stored here.

Browser Preview

Press the "Set" button to locate your Web Browser.

This is the web browser that is used when you press the "Preview in Browser" tool bar icon.

Fonts

The Fonts preferences you can use "as is".

HTML Editing

This preference controls the way the HTML code is displayed when you click the "Edit HTML Source" toll bar icon. I recommend that you use "Syntax Coloring" and "Word Wrap", it makes the HTML source much more readable if you, for what ever reason, want to look at it.

HTML Output

Claris Home page has some options for how to do the page alignment. I suggest that you use the option <CENTER> tag for Paragraph Alignment.

The "Generate X-SAS tags" option is for Claris Home page to save information on window size and placement as when you closed your document. Do NOT select this option as i fills your HTML code with tags that fill no purpose for your document viewers. I may confuse some browsers though.

The "Use Absolute Pathnames" option shall NOT be chosen. If you do, all images and links to document that you linked trough the link and images dialogs will be referring to the full file path on YOUR computer, the document can not be moved without a considerable effort.
