The machines we were supposed to use came from the student computer club in Ronneby. They were meant to help us start a similar computer club here in Karlskrona. It didn't take long before we figure out why the people there didn't mind giving them away. Linux drivers for PS/2 are almost not existent. Those existing created terible crashes upon installation. Luckly, the Institute of telecomunications donated a Pentium 200MMX to help us start the club and that gave us hope that we might finish the project. We also found one Internet sites providing limited support to those using Linux on PS/2 machines and the guy there updated his drivers to work on our machines.
Soon we had three PS/2 clients connected to the server (the P200MMx machine) working pretty god. However, next time somebody will ask us to install Linux on some other strange (read dead and buried!) machines we certainly will give more thought to it!
If we want to visit the server, that is now fully used by our computer
