Installing Probe Beta 87

If you haven't installed any previous version of Probe, follow the instructions below to make a trial installation of Probe.

To run version 87 you need a HTML Help client installed. If you don't have one, then goto Installing HTML Help. (Hint: Win95, ant NT4 do not have HTML help built in. Win98 has, and if you run Internet Explorer 4, you also have HTML Help.)

Once you have the HTML Help client, you can download and install Probe through:

• Download the file Probe87.exe.
• The exe file is a self-extracting cabinet. Start the program, and point it to a temporary directory, and let it uncompress there.
• The Setup program is then launched automatically. Follow the instructions in the Setup Wizard.

When you start Probe the first time, you'll be prompted whether to do some disk tests. After that, when inside the program, a good starting point in the 'Help' menu is 'Getting Started'. Here you can find instructions on how to get started using Probe in a productive manner.
