Extracting Archives using Probe

• Compressed archives are browsed with Probe just as ordinary subfolders are, by double clicking, or by putting the cursor on an archive and pressing Enter.

• The following types of Compressed archives can be browsed, accessed, and decompressed using Probe:
  • Zip
  • Cab
  • Arj
  • Rar
  • Tar
  • Z,Gz
  • Jar

• To decompress one or more files, one selects them, and selects the file popup menu item Expand Archive(s). Alternatively, the keyboard accelerator Alt-F9 is used.

• Through the Extract Dialog, the decompression process is started. Format specific options, and details such as silent operation, threaded operation, and checking the expansion process for success, are also available in this dialog.
