File Selection
- Selecting indivudal files with either keyboard or mouse. This is efficient when handling a small number of files in a single folder. It is the only method provided by MS Explorer.
- Selecting many files using a selection criterion, such as a filename wildcard. With this method, Probe does the work of checking each file, instead of you having to manually select it.

- A multifolder-selection may, for example, consist of all image files (*.jpg,*.gif, *.bmp), in or below a specific base-folder (C:\ My Project), that has been modified after a certain date.
- A multi-folder selection is created by either manually selecting files in several folders, or using the Advanced Selection Dialog.
- The Advanced Selection Dialog specifies a selection criterion that consists of one ore more of:
- A filename wildcard and filename length.
- A date criterion (Creation Date, Last Modify Date, Last Access Date).
- A size criterion.
- A file-attribute criterion.
- The selection criterion may optionally be applied recursively in all sub-folders of the current folder.
