Controlling File Operations
- When doing file-operations involving many files and subfolders, it is
important to get things right the first time. Some operations, such as Delete, may not be
undone, and for others it may be time consuming to redo them.
- For this purpose, Probe uses the File Operation Dialog.
This gives full control of all details relating to the file-operation:
- How to handle subfolders during the file-operation.
- Information on the number of files and folders selected.
- Possibility to visually inspect the files included in the
file-operation.
- Available target free space.
- This dialog can be expanded to the Advanced Mode allowing
to further specify file-operation details:
- What to do in case of filename collision (File Clash Settings).
- The possibility of activating a file-transfer that does not pause for
user-input, in case of any problems (Silent Mode).
- Threaded or non-threaded operation.
- How files with System, Readonly and Hidden file-attributes are
handled during Deletion/Recycling or Move.
- The order in which files are handled within the operation.
- Selecting a Log Window where notifications and
errors are echoed to.
- The possibility of having a Flat Target, that is, no
folder structure is created for the destination folder.
