Threaded File Operations
- When, for example, compressing many files for backup, or when
transfering large files over a slow network connection, traditional file managers are
non-responsive while the file-transfer is taking place.
- In this situation, with file-operation taking some time, it is not
very convenient to have part of the desktop occupied by an application in a non-responsive
state.
- To solve this, Probe organizes all file-operations in separate
threads. With this approach, you can continue using Probe, while the transfer is in
progress.
- As a consequence, we may perform several simultaneous
file-operations, and at the same time be able to browse and open documents from within
Probe.
