| A typical BUZZ, isn't it? Does it
mean "management of quality", if so, what's new. Total? And what
is that supposed to mean?
Or is it all about some kind of "total management"? We sure need something like that! And of course even better, "total management" of good quality. But even if management is one essential part in an operation it is certainly not all. So far my most whining side. I know that almost all of us have more sophisticated definitions of TQM. The one I am most used to sounds like:
|
Fare enough, but you
may say it's three new BUZZ, or shall we say one BUZZ (empowered people)
and two MYTHS.
I will be back and further elaborate on these three BUZZ/MYTHS. Anyhow TQM has been defined in many different ways and with focus on different areas. Focus!? The part of TQM I like the
best is "Total" (as counterpoise to "Focus"). Isn't "Total" what is all
about. We have to deal with the total situation all the time. Maybe we
must focus now and then on specific areas, but most essential is to always
handle the total operation/situation in a proper way.

| Owners/Capital | Customers | People | Processes |
| Operation system | IS/IT | Management | Goals |
| Strategies | Measurements | Control | Environment |
| Organization | Short/Long term | Satisfaction | Loyalty |
I know that this is an awful mixture of everything, but isn't that's what life is!? No use to exhaust oneself in fruitless attempts to sort thing out in "small boxes". Just grab it all!
More to come, have patients. But comments, viewpoints, please!!
