Fidonet was a Wordwide network long before Internet was invented. Back in 1985,
Tom Jennings came up with it, and named it after his dog. Fidonet has allways
been noncomercial, and ran by entusiasts. It use mainly dialup-connections, and
it exchange messages in a simple, but effective way. Now there is a number of
ways to use internet for carrying Fidonet, check the Programlinks for more info
Nowdays Fidonet lives in the shadow of Internet, but there's still life in the
old dog!
