A presentation of
my Transactional Process
Ontology
This is
an alternative
ontology of time and matter, according to which matter is a process and which
combines our experienced "process time" with relativity's "geometrical time"
(except its closed future) into a "possibilist" interpretation of time with
an open future. Thus it has
properties
that seem rather close to the time of
process philosophy
and to the transactions of John Cramer's Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, especially
to those of a version of it that
includes a "Plane
of the Present" and has an open future (cf. "Why
Everettians Should Appreciate the Transactional Interpretation" by Ruth
Kastner).
My paper "Transactional Process Ontology" tries to explain this view in depth. I may not have succeeded to make it accessible in all its parts to people without some acquaintance with physics, but I think this is not required for the first and the last five pages. An original version of it was formulated in a (now closed) discussion forum (Causality and "a process interpretation" of the TI) of the Center for Process Studies.
The
World Pantheist Movement
seems to a large extent promote a worldview that is close to mine.
Here is its "Belief Statement". WPM has a
Facebook
page open to everyone, and there is also a new interesting place,
pantheists.ning.com which seems to
have greater possibilities than Facebook, and where I have a
personal page
(to enter you may have to sign up, which is free).
