Fibromyalgia







Fibromyalgia (soft parts rheumatism) is a hidden endemic disease, who exist at 1-3 %
of the population. 80-90 % of them whom strikes is women.The common
symptoms is pain in muscles and tendenfix. A few cases of recovering
is documented.

The disease indicates of pain in the entire body, great fatigue and exhaustion in
the muscles.About thirty other symptoms are also known. It strikes foremost
women in 40-50 years of age.

The first diagnoses came for about 16 years ago, in America. The internationell
classificationen according to 10:th edition of Internationell Classifications of
Diseases is M79,0. In Sweden is the classification 729 A, Reumatism unspecified
and fibrosis.

Fibromyalgia is not a physical disease. At studies they have found a high level of
Substans P ( painsubstans), in the spinal cord. Itīs three times higher than
within a healthy person. They have also found a to lo level of serotonin. Studies have
also shownthat, it exists disorder in the neurohormone systeme in
the muscles. Which leads to incomplete slackening.

They have also discovered fibromyalgia within children and teenagers. Better knowledge to
more and more doctors, should reduce the missunderstanding between doctors and
patients.

The modern diagnoses came 1981 and is a criteriadiagnoses, as for
many other diseases. The diagnose is independent. There is today no
bloodsample, who can proof that You have fibromyalgia. On the other hand shows test that
You have lack of growinghormone. The possible course is disorders in the bodys
signalsystems, hormonesystem, nervesystem and immunedefencesystem. Possible, a
genetic disorder.

Fibromyalgia is not newdescovered disease, but have been studieing since the beginning of 1800.

in soft parts in the shoulder-, back- och pelvic girdle.

Valid dignostic criteria for fibromyalgia (according AR 1990) is :

General pain: imply pain in all four bodyquadrants, i.e
right/left side, upper/lower bodyhalf, including axial pain in the neck,
fore sternum, chest or loin.
