We were married the 19th of september in Padern, a small village of lazy dogs and vignerons, in the Corbieres region of France, foothills of the Pyrennees.

A COUNTRY WEDDING

At the so-called wedding rehearsal we started to get a bit worried when we realised that the important bit where you're supposed to say "I do" had been left out. A wedding in three languages was NOT something easy to set up, so we spent the rest of the time trying to fit all the bits in, in the right language of course, without confusing the priest too much (apparently we didn't succeed that well). The result was that the wedding itself was an "organised chaos". But we ended up as man and wife in the end and the bestman and the maid of honour were not married by mistake so we were happy.

Håkan's family came down from Sweden for the wedding and thanks to alot of help from friends and neighbours we managed to find room for everyone. After the civil wedding in the newly painted mairie we marched down the road to a beautifully decorated and very packed church. After the ceremony the whole village was invited to an aperitif and then the guests went to a wedding dinner with products and wine "de la région" and danced till dawn.
