    Rating:
As everyone knows, danish metal band Mercyful Fate split up after their first two albums, although they came alive again in the early 90's. Anyways, King went on under his own name during the time 'Fate wasn't active but he took Denner and Hansen with him. He added swedes Andy La Rocque and Mikkey Dee to the crew, and the "band" King Diamond saw its first line-up.
It's not like it's a totally new band when it comes to style though. Mercyful Fate fans will recognize it, although I think this is slightly more melodic. It isn't the most original act ever either - actually really typical 80's heavy metal-out-of-the-books but King with his horror image and unique falsette voice saves this album being just one of the bunch. Great debut album.
