    Rating:
Ok now all metal fans raise your eyebrows cause this is probably one of the best metal records ever made. American Dream Theater's second I think, and this is progressive metal - if you don't know what that is go ask your music teacher although I doubt he'd know it.
Anyway progressive metal is basically regular metal, but with a high degree of improvising, usually lots of keyboards, acoustic guitars & stuff like that. Guitarists in this genre usually are very skilled, and that goes for this guy (John Petrucci) too - expect some of the greatest guitar work in the world here.
The vocals are very close to power metal singers I have to say, the guy goes so high sometimes you think the windows will break. Although he stands miles and miles above Michael Kiske and his clones. The difference is that James LaBrie really CAN sing.
When you listen to this album you begin to think that it's too good to be true. This is a must-have as simple as that.
