    Rating:
Debut for one of the best metal bands I've ever heard (at least for being swedes), Opeth. The thing they do is progressive melodic metal, with a small touch of death metal (the vocals), much acoustic guitars, and the vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt he's really awesome doing his stuff! He does both the brutal growling kind, as well as clean singing.
I don't think a normal person can understand the quality in Opeth just by reading about it or looking at the front cover and song titles. You have to sit down and listen really carefully cause this is a LOT of music, normally it takes time to get into it, but sometimes you're just so blown away by the killer riffs and melodies this talented foursome produces. Not the best album they've done, can't really point out what's wrong with it but uhm.. maybe it should've had some more of that clean vocals, I dunno. But don't worry, if you've heard anything else by Opeth or not, this is a cd I definitely recommend you to buy.
