BeOS- The Be Operating System

The Be operating system is designed for digital media applications and the Internet but it also comes with a web-browser and a simple email client. It's very easy to use and has a beautiful interface which in my mind also makes it suitable for general purpose use. I've been using BeOS for some time and like it a lot. If you haven't heard of the BeOS before, a good place to find out more is on Be Inc.'s homepage (click Be Inc. button to the right).
 
 
To the left are some screen-shots of applications that comes with the installation. It's 3dmov with a floating Be logo, MediaPlayer playing a movie, SoundRecorder and 3dsound where sounds are arranged in a 3d screen. There are of course lots of other applications like GoBe Productive and e-Picture from BeatWare. All images on these pages were made with e-Picture.
 
 
Download the newest BeOS for free!!
BeOS 5 is the newest version of BeOS and will be available as a free download. It's fully functional and isn't a demonstration version! You will be able to download it here: free.be.com in the first quarter of 2000. More info and FAQ:s can be found here: free BeOS 5 infopage.
