m/y MÅSEN
Måsen (eng. sea-gull) is an 54 ft, all mahogany, Commuter or Express Cruiser built in 1924. Måsen was used to commute between Stockholm city and the summer house in the archipelago. High speed and comfort was vital when the owner ordered Måsen and the top speed is around 30 knots! Above are some old pics of Måsen from 1924.
The engine is also from 1924 and is a big six cyl 1463 cuin Sterling Coast Guard, an American petrol engine with dual overhead cams., four valves/cyl., four(!) sets of the ignition system and four sparks in each cylinder. The pictures below show the engine after it has been fixed up a bit. I'm now doing some restoration work on the mahogany hull too.
