Knee-type - Cabover   


This is a hybrid between the older knee-type where the pilot sat on his knees and the newer hydro-plane. The type could be unstable because the hydro-plane type required the weight to be moved forward as far as possible. This was solved in the more common type below where the pilot was laying down. The boat above was drawn by Ted Jones and built 1963. The engine is a KÖNIG 500cc, 50hp, Standard Class.
 

This "Cabover" boat was made for the 500cc Competition Class though the engine here is a 2cyl KÖNIG 250cc, 38hp. The architect was Schulze and the boat was built in 1960.
