Double Weapon Trick

In some GoldenEye levels, you can find some weapons that can be "paired," so Bond can hold one in each hand. In most places, the game limits you to two of the same weapon. To a limited extent, you can use the following trick to mix the types of weapons you have paired.

To do this trick, you must have two sets of paired weapons that appear next to each other in your weapon list, and some ammo for each gun. One example of this is the Military Archives, where you can have two Dostoveis and two Klobbs. You'll also need to use a trick that lets you cycle backwards through your weapons--if you press and hold A, then tap the Z button, you can cycle through your weapons in reverse order.

Once you're ready, cycle through your weapons until you have two of the second set of weapons ready (For example, in the Archive, have your two Klobbs selected). You'll need to do the following steps fairly quickly:

1. Press and hold the A button.
2. Before you cycle forward, press Z twice.
3. Release the A button.
4. Press A once.
5. Press Z to fire two or three times to fire while the weapons are changing .

If done correctly, firing the weapon will lock one of the weapons on screen in the middle of changing weapons, leaving you with a mixed pair.

If you have the All Weapons Cheat enable, you'll have two of nearly all of your weapons. You can use this trick to get some interesting mixes!

Play As Same Character Trick

There is a trick which allows you to have doubles or triples of characters in GoldenEye 007's three- and four-player modes. The following example shows you how to have three of the same characters in a four-player game. Once you understand how it works, you can use it in a three-player match, or to have 2 matched pairs of players.

1. Start a four-player match in the multi-player mode, and pick the character you want to "multiply" as Player 4.

2. Pick any other characters for Players 1, 2 and 3.

3. Change the number of Players from 4 to 3, go to the Characters screen again, and select Player 4's character to be Player 3. Pick any characters for Players 1 and 2.

3. Change the number of Players from 3 to 2, go to the Characters screen again, and select Player 4's character to be Player 2. Pick any character for Player 1.

4. Change the number of Players back to 4 and start the game. Players 2, 3 and 4 will be the same character.

64 Characters Code

This code opens up all of the characters in Multi-Player mode, including 31 that are not available any other way.

This is a long code -- 10 steps -- and may take a few tries to enter properly. You can do this code anywhere, but it's best to do it on the Multi-Player Character Select screen while looking at the last available character (Mishkin or Moonraker Elite). Then:

1. Hold the L and R Buttons and press C-Left (the left C button).
2. Hold the L Button and press C-Up.
3. Hold the L and R Buttons and press Left on the digital Control Pad (NOT the Control Stick).

Note: Doing this will select a different character on-screen. This is supposed to happen.

4. Hold the L Button and press Right on the Control Pad.
5. Hold the R Button and press Down on the Control Pad.
6. Hold the L and R Buttons and press C-Left.
7. Hold the L Button and press C-Up.
8. Hold the L and R Buttons and press Right on the Control Pad.
9. Hold the L and R Buttons and press C-Down.
10. Hold the L Button and press Down on the Control Pad.

No sound is made to indicate the code was successfully entered. If you entered the code correctly, you will be able to select from nearly double the characters you had access to before. Note that this code will open all of the hidden characters, even if you haven't finished the game. One drawback is, your game will not save this code, so you'll have to re-enter it every time you want to use the extra characters.

Driver: Mario
Kart Class: Medium
Mario drives a medium kart, which is average in many ways. It doesn't have super acceleration, it doesn't lose much speed when cornering, and it doesn't lose much speed when off-road. Mario is a good racer to start out with, but you may find yourself switching to one of the lighter karts once you've mastered some of the subtle techniques of Mario Kart 64.

Driver: Luigi
Kart Class: Medium
Luigi drives a medium kart that doesn't really have any strengths or weaknesses. Medium karts are suitable for many different tracks. However, after you have mastered many of the techniques in Mario Kart 64, you may find the medium karts to have a mediocre performance in some areas.

Driver: Peach
Kart Class: Light
The Princess drives a light kart that has slightly better acceleration than the heavy karts. Light karts have a slight advantage in tracks with lots of turns, if the driver is skilled in the Mini-Turbo drift technique. It's hard to say for sure, but it seems like the Princess may be the heaviest of the light karts, but of course, we wouldn't say anything like that to her face!

Driver: Toad
Kart Class: Light
Toad drives a light kart. Light karts have decent acceleration, but lose a lot of speed in the turns
unless they use the Mini-Turbo technique. It's been said that Toad is the best kart in the game, but Yoshi and the Princess might also be able to claim that honor.

Driver: Yoshi
Kart Class: Light
Yoshi is another light kart with good acceleration. Using the Mini-Turbo in the turns will make Yoshi almost unmatchable. Light karts don't lose as much speed as heavy karts do when they go off the track.

Driver: Donkey Kong
Kart Class: Heavy
Donkey Kong drives a heavy kart, which means those lighter karts better stay out of his way! It may be slightly slower out of the blocks, but once a heavy kart gets moving, it's cruising! To win as DK, you've got to stay on track, because he'll lose a lot of speed going off-road.

Driver: Wario
Kart Class: Heavy
Wario drives a heavy kart. Heavy karts have slightly slower acceleration than lighter karts. They don't lose as much speed in a corner, but they will really slow down if they go off the track. Heavy karts can clear lighter karts out of their path.

Driver: Bowser
Kart Class: Heavy
Driving what is probably the heaviest kart of all, Bowser can really throw his weight around. Do those spikes on his back protect him from getting rear ended? Unfortunately they don't, but he will be able to push around the lighter karts. When driving the heavy karts, make sure you don't change directions too quickly or you might spin out, especially on the dirt tracks.

Solid skills across the board (yep, we intended that joke) make Slash an excellent choice for beginners. He's squarely in the middle of the pack when it comes to speed, cornering and trick-pulling abilities.

One of this showboater's favorite tricks is the Slash Banzai. Press and hold the A Button and shift the Control Stick left, then right before releasing the button.

A first-rate handler and trickster, Nancy is your best choice for narrow, winding courses like Grass Valley. Perhaps because she's so small, it's hard for her to build up momentum. In fact, she's the pokiest of the pack.

Buy Nancy a fast board and you just might be pleasantly surprised. She's an excellent choice for dodging the twirling teacups on the daunting Dino Park course.

Judging from his big ‘do, there should be no surprise that Jam's rivals dub him the Mousse Man. But it's Jam who gets the last laugh, silencing his critics with his top-notch cornering and trick-pulling abilities.

When airborne, try pulling a Jam the Great. Hold down the A Button, push the Control Stick left, right, left and right, then release the A Button. Subpar speed -- Jam can only outrun Nancy -- makes him a poor choice for the sweeping early courses.

Just one look at those leopard-print pants and that smug grin and you know Linda has gotta be at the front of every parade. Sure enough, her speed is second only to Tommy's. However, her cornering ability and tricks are only so-so.

The snow princess's litany of tricks includes the dazzling Linda Bourgeoisie. Press and hold the A Button, move the Control Stick Up, Down, Up and Down, then release A.

The first to reach the dinner table and the last to leave, Tommy's heft gives him the best flat-out speed of the bunch. However, his cornering and trick-pulling abilities are the worst around. Maybe Tommy should start turning down second helpings of Canadian bacon.

The big guy has mastered a scant three tricks. Try this one: Hold the A Button, press the Control Stick Up, rotate it 360 degrees, hold Up and release A. The short Guruguru Mountain track (541 meters) is best for the great green one.
