Saab 96 1964

Den 17 februari 1960 avtäcktes vid en pressvisning i stockholm Saab 96. Frånsett fronten var det mesta nytt. Motorn - fortarande trecylindrig tvåtakt - var på 841 cc och 38 hk, instrumentpanelen var ny liksom hela bilens bakdel med en stor panoramaruta. Bagageutrymmet var större än på Saab 93, liksom baksätet som blivit 25 centimeter bredare. Saab 96 öppnade många nya marknader för Saab - inte minst i Storbritannien.

The Saab 96 was unveiled at a press viewing on the 17 February 1960. Apart from the front, most of the car was new. The engine, though still a three-cylinder, two-stroke, had a displacement of 841 cc and developed 38 bhp. The fascia was new, and so was the entire rear section, with its large, panoramic rear window. The boot was lager than that of the Saab 93, and the back seat gained 25 cm(10 inches) in width. The saab 96 opend the doors to many new markets - particulary that in Great Britain.
