Catherina 1964
Saabs första formgivare, Sixten Sason, skissade i början på 1960-talet på en sportbil åt sig själv. ASJ i Katrineholm blev intresserade av den Saab-baserade skissen (motor, växellåda, bottenplatta) och en prototyp, Catherina, tillverkades. Samtidigt tog Saabs egna ideer om en sportbil form, och Catherina utvärderades för eventuell serieproduktion. Den visade sig inte hålla måttet i jämnförelse med en annan prototyp, MFI 13.
In the early 1960's, Sixten Sason, Saab's first designer, produced the drawing of a sports car for his own use. ASJ of Katrineholm became interested in the Saab-based design (engine, gearbox and floorpan) and manufactued a prototype christened Catherina. Saab also cherished the thoughts of producing a sportcar, and Catherina was one of the contendes for possible production. It lost to another prototype, MFI 13.
