History: SHATTERED
was formed back in –96 by drummer Johan Karlsson, guitarist Jimmy
Larsson and Erik Andersson on guitar/vox in a small town in Sweden
called Ed. A
couple of years and gigs later the band turned into a two pieced trash/death
combo. Unfourtunately Erik and the bassist at the time left the band
when they moved to another city. Soo
when they turned into the studio to put their first “real” demo
called “Forgotten” to a
cd, Johan tried to put his throut to the music – and it turned out
very well! There was good respons from the mags. and companys all over
the world. In Brave New Words #4 (S) there are an full page interview
with the band and also one in Phillipines Bakal Zine.+ a lot of good
reviews of the demo. “Forgotten”
made the Swedish record company VOD Records open their eyes for the band
– and they simply asked the band to be on their “ Voices Of Death
– Part 5” compilation (release spring – 02). Before
all this happened – the band had entered the studio in Ed once again
and the follow up - the four track demo “Serenade Of Sadism” was all
set and done. So when VOD Records asked for a song, they go into another
studio (Metamorphosis Studio) and re-record the title track “Serenade
Of Sadism”. For the compilation cd. Together
with this a mag. from the Philipphine (!) asked them to be featured on
their cassett to the next nr. of their paper mag.
This time they sent “Triumphant” away. They
have now looked for an singer, they found one – Karl Kronlid – but
it didn´t work out the way the band wanted it to, soo he was simply
kicked out of the band. They have also recorded a new demo cd called
“Seductors Manual” where Johan also sings with clean vocals!!! At
2002 they played a lot of gigs – for ex. One at The Slave To Metal
Night Part II and one on 2000 Decibel Festival in Bengtsfors, Sweden
together with band such as ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, OPETH, WITCHERY,
SATARIEL, MANINNYA BLADE and SATARIEL… A big and important gig. They
was also interviewed by Swedens leading radio program – P3, where they
also played the track “Second Me” on the best air time!!!
