Welcome to my homepage and my humble tribute to an animal that
alway fascinated me - the Wolf. Wolves are like few other animals surrounded by myths and misconceptions. In many parts of the world they became the symbol of everything negative and despiseful within the human nature, attributes that have very little to do with what wolves really are.
Far from being dangerous or agressive wolves are
extremely fearful of people and will actively seek to avoid an encounter. They are
intelligent and highly social animals with a very complex behaviour and they form
strong bonds to other members of their packs. Wolves are
predators and as such they fill an important echological niche.
In many ways they are alike us, they are loving parents who care for and teaches their
young ones and cooperate to survive.
But unlike humans they fill an important position in life's web and when they leave this
world only their fading tracks remains. We have a lot to learn from wolves.
News
Those of you who visit this site frequently (Hi Mommy!) will notice I've made some major changes. The intention is to make the site a bit more informative and hopefully easier to navigate. In case I've managed to achieve the opposite or if the site looks awful with your browser I'd be really grateful if you send me a
bug report.
Important information
As you may be informed of the Yellowstone wolves are threatened by extermination. They are part of a very successful reintroduction project and have adapted well to their new environment. To read more about this go to:
World of Ladywolf
or visit the homepage of NAWA - North American Wolf Association
The Swedish wolves are once again threatened by an absurd law that allows limited hunting in spite of the fact that there are only about 40-50 animals left in the country. For those of you who speak swedish and have an interest in reading about the situation of the Swedish wolf today I recommend the home page of Svenska Rovdjursföreningen.

The Searching Wolf
Information on Projects etc.
There are a lot of projects that aims towards saving the wolf. I recommend that anyone with an interest in protecting wolves take the opportunity to read about them. Most of the sites so far describes projects in the U.S., but I hope to find information about similar projects from other parts of the world. Such projects deserve all the attention they can get.
