990626: Three awards for Jagr, Lemieux new owner and more: Hereīs some news from the Pens... Swedish defender Hans Jonsson of Swedish Elite League runners-up Modo has signed a two year deal with the Penguins.
The Penguins lost defender Maxim Galanov to the Atlanta Thrashers in the entry draft. Rob Brown was also available but fortunately he remins a Penguin.
Jaromir Jagr picked up three awards this year. He won the Art Ross Trophy as the leading scorer, the Hart Memorial Trophy as the leagueīs MVP and the Lester B. Pearson award as the best player voted by the other players.
Maybe the biggest news is that Mario Lemieux is the new owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Fox Sports Pittsburgh has joined Lemieux and will pay about $10 MIL/season for the TV rights.

990519: Season over: As you all probably know the Toronto Maple Leafs have won the series against the Pens. Thanks to a great team effort the Pens sent the Devils out of the playoff, but against Toronto guys like Garry Valk were allowed too much space. Tom Barrasso wasnīt at his best either. A team that beat New Jersey should be able to beat Toronto.

990516: Leafs take a 3-2 lead: After Thursdays game the Pens could have had a 3-1 lead. Instead the Toronto Maple Leafs won in overtime and evened the series 2-2. After todays game they lead the series for the first time. Leafs defensepair Dimitri Yushkevich and Daniil Markov did a great job holding Jagr back. The Pens managed only 6 shots on goal in the first two periods and 4 in the last. Kovalev was sidelined for the second game in a row. The Pens will need him in game 6. Morozov was scratched. I think he should have played. The Pens are now facing the same situation as in the series against the Devils. We know it isnīt impossible for the Pens to advance to the Conference finals.

990508: Pens take game 1: The Pens wouldnīt settle with just eliminating the Devils from the playoffs. Today they beat the Maple Leafs in the first semifinal 2-0! Dan Kesa was the hero of the game, scoring on a power play in the first period. CuJo was laying on the ice and Kesa lifted the puck over him. Titov scored late in the 3:rd period in an empty net. The Pens defence along with Barrasso did a great job.

990505: Pure beauty: Who thought this when the playoffs begun? Not too many people. But the Pens players didnīt listen. Instead they today won the 7th game against the Devils 4-2 and therefor moved on to the semis. Straka had a big night with 2 assists and 1 goal. Jagr had 2 assists. Titov opened the scoring after Martin Straka took the puck from Stevens and passed it to him. Kovalev and Hrdina added two goals. In the third period the Devils fought hard and didnīt allow the Pens to shoot a single shot on goal for the first 14 minutes, but Straka could finally end the scoring after a pass from Jagr.

990503: Jagr takes Pens to Game 7: Jagr has finally made his comeback. And what a comeback! With 2 goals he led the Pens to a 3-2 victory. He tied the game 2-2 in the last period and scored the winning goal in the OT-period. Titov assisted on his first goal. He skated to the right side of the net and chipped it back to Jagr who was in front of the net. On the winning goal Straka came skating on the left and passed it over to Jagr.
Game 7 in New Jersey will be a hard one, but not impossible though. The Devils are a great team and they want to win. But if the Pensī offensive unit use their speed to get past the Devils defenders and the Pens defenders including Barrasso play a solid game the Pens could win.

990501: Pens miss Jagr: After todayīs 3-2 loss the Pens are down 3 to 2 in the series. This was the fourth straight game without Jaromir Jagr. Bobby Dollas played a pretty good game, but Tom Barrasso was too weak. He needs to play better or else the Pens wont have much of a chance on the remaining two games. Jagr is very missed. The Pens need more offense in the remaining two games. They managed it well in game two and three, but you have to win four games to win the series.

990425: Pens win game two: It didnīt look to good before the game. Jaromir Jagr was sidelined with a groin injury. But the fun was yet to come. Despite playing without Jagr the Pens played a great game as a team and won 4-1. The Pens used their speed to get past the Devils D-men and Kevin Hatcher played great, more than great. Morozov opened the scoring in the first period. Greg Andrusak continued the scoring in the second period. This was the first time Andrusak and Morozov scored in a playoff. Straka scored the 0-3 goal before the second period was over. In the third Alexei Kovalev (who missed game one) scored. Andreychuk scored the last goal of the game. The Pens also had a goal disallowed.
After two away games itīs now 1-1 in games and the series now continue in Pittsburgh. We all know that the New Jersey Devils are the best away team in the league and they will sure be looking for revenge. But we must also remember that the Pens was able to win 4-1 without Jagr. In game one the score might have been different if the Pens scored on their chances. In this game they did, and that might very well continue.

990419: Gretzky says good-bye in Pens win: The Rangers-players gave the Pens agood fight. Kovalev opened the scoring after beautiful play by Lang and Morozov. Rangers then tied the game and Gretzky got his last NHL-point on an assist. The game went to overtime and Jagr scored the final goal, and put an end to Gretzkys career. Wayne Gretzky played good hockey in the game and he showed that he wanted to quit hockey with a win.

990412: Barrassoīs back: With both Tom Barrasso and Jaromir Jagr back in the team the Pens blanked Detroit 0-3. Barrasso made numerous of good saves and the Pens D made a great job. Dan Kesa had one of his greatest games with 1 goal and 1 assist. The game ended a 9 game winless streak for the Pens. The Pens have won both games against Detroit this season for the first time since the the 1990-91 season.

990402: Pens comeback: After being dominated the first two periods the Pens rebounded in the third and scored three goals for a tie with Ottawa. Jagr was the saviour with two goals and one assist.

990328: Barnaby scores on old team-mates: Iīve been to Brussels this week and havnīt been able to write about the last games.
Matthew Barnaby scored the only Pens goal in the 1-1 tie with Buffalo.

990322: Mike Richter - Pens 2-2: New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins played an entertaining game. Kevin Stevens opened the scoring with a weak backhander. Niel Wilkinson didnīt do much to stop him from scoring but I think Aubin should have saved that shot. Frankly i must admit I was quite nervous everytime the Rangers had the puck in the offensive zone. The D-men however did quite a good job. The Pens dominated the Rangers but couldnīt score any goals. The Rangers started the second period with a powerplay goal by Petr Nedved. The Pens and especially Jaromir Jagr woke up after this goal. Jagr dropped the puck to Bobby Dollas who blasted it past Richter. A moment later German Titov tied the game. The Pens continued to dominate in the third period but Mike Richter was brilliant. He continued that way in the OT. He even stopped Jaromir Jagr on a breakaway. J-S Aubin grew bigger as the game proceeded. This was a game the Pens should have won. If the Rangers would have another goalie, the Pens would have won bigtime.

990321: Pens tie Nashville: Robert Lang scored the tying goal in a boring game against Nashville.
The Pens have acquired Brent Peterson from Tampa Bay for future considerations. I really donīt see why. He canīt really help the Pens in the PlayOffs.

990318: Pens win in Tampa: After yesterdays 2-2 tie with Dallas the Pens went to Tampa Bay for a 2-0 win. With Tom Barrasso and Peter Skudra sidelined Jean-Sebastien Aubin was the goalie tonight. Rob Brown and Kip Miller scored the Pens goals.

990314: Jagr is first player to reach 100p: First of all Iīd like apologize for my abscence these past weeks. Iīve been away and havnīt been able to update the site.
I guess youīve already heard of the Barnes-Barnaby trade. I like the trade. Bernaby is not a great goalscorer, but he is very physical. I think that could be useful in the playoffs. In todays 4-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers Jaromir Jagr scored his 100th point this season. He had 3 assists and 1 goal, a goal with a capital G. Jagr was pulled down to the ice resulting in a weak backhander from him. The puck hit Hextallīs stick and bounced out in the air and Jagr, laying on his stomach hit the puck out of midair past Ron Hextallīs right shoulder. Thatīs something you usually donīt get to see. Martin Straka was also great, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists.

990223: Pens end losing streak: The Pens today beat the Phoenix Coyotes 4-1. Ian Moran opened the scoring with a shot from the red line. It was more of a dump that bounced in front of Khabibulin. Barnes scored two goals nd assisted on one!

990222: 3rd straight loss: After winning 10 straight games the Pens have now lost 3 straight games, the latest against the Flyers, 2-1. Not much to say, Straka scored the Pens only goal. I think the game shows that the Pens arenīt really Cup-contenders yet.

990216: 10th straight win: There were red-hot Penguins on the ice today, totally crunching the Capitals 7-3 for their 10th straight win. If it hadnīt been for Kolzig in the beginning of the game the Pens maybe would have scored even more. Alexey Morozov scored twice. (When was the last time that happened?) It was a fun game to watch but there were no question which team would win the game, although things got a little bit interesting after Adam Oatesī 5-3 goal. Alexei Kovalev extended his point-streak ti 10 games with an assist.

990214: Pens win 9th straight: Kip Miller scored 3:39 into OT to give the Penguins their ninth straight victory (and their 3rd straight OT-victory), 3-2 over the Nashville Predators. Miller also had an assist. He has collected nine goals and seven assists in his last 10 games. The Pens had a 2-1 lead after the period. The second period was scoreless. In the third period the Predators tied the game after a goal by Cliff Ronning with one minute left. In the OT Nashville defenseman Joel Bouchard lost the puck along the left boards and Miller scored.
Iīm sorry there where no report on the Canucks-game!

990210: Pens win in OT: Alexei Kovalev scored the goal in OT as the Pens beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2. Jagr opened the scoring after a scoreless first period. Kip Miller also netted for the Pens.

990208: Pens beat Red Wings: The Penguins won against the Detroit Red Wings, 2-1. This was Tom Barrassoīs win. Whithout him the Red Wings would probably have won the game. The Pens didnīt play quite as dominating as the former games against Florida and Buffalo for example. Of course you have to consider the fact that the Red Wings is a better team. Detroit generated many qualified scoringchanses but Tommie played like an all-star.

990206: Pens blank Panthers: With Pavel Bure leaving in the first period the panthers couldnīt genrate any offence at all and the Pens won 3-0. Jagr scored two goals and assisted on Martin Sonnenbergīs goal in the third period. Jagr now has 12 points in his last three games. The Penguins won the season series against Florida, 4-1.

990203: Hrdina is NHL Rookie of the month: First of all Iīd like to tell you that Pittsburgh Penguins center Jan Hrdina is the NHL Rookie of the month.
After last game (against Montreal) when Jaromir Jagr was involved in four out of five goals he was even more dominating against Buffalo. Tonight he was involved in ALL five goals (1 g, 2 ass). The firs line with Miller-Hrdina-Jagr might be good after all. The Penguins where dominating in the first period, dominated in the second and (again) dominating in the third.

990131: Jagrīs pointscoring streak ends: The Boston Bruins held Jaromir Jagr away from scoring any points, but they forgot the second and the third line. The Pens beat the Bruins 5-2. Kovalev had a big night with 2 goals and 1 assist.

990129: Pens crush Leafs: With four points (1 g, 3 ass) from Jagr the Pens humiliated the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jagr played with Kip Miller and Jan Hrdina tonight. The shutout was the second for Peter Skudra!

990122: Another loss: With a new coach (Bill Stewart) and Tommy Salo back in the goal the Islanders crushed the weak Pens tonight. Slegr and Kovalev scored the Pens two goals. The Penguins won the first period 2-1, but the Isles won the two remaining 2-0. I sure hope the All-Star break will be good for the Pens.

990119: Penguins lost: Very brief report today. The Pens lost to Anaheim 5-3. The Pens were held scoreless for the first two periods but managed to score three in the third.

990117: Pens win again: After losing the last two games in the 3rd period the Pens beat the Kings 5-1. Ian Moran opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal. Jagr also scored one goal after a terrific effort beating almost the whole Kings team before scoring.

990116: 2nd straight loss: For the second time in a row the Pens lost, this time in San Jose 3-2. Jaromir Jagr and Alexei Kovalev scored for the Pens. The Pens had a 2-1 lead in the 3rd period but they allowed two goals in the end of the game.

990110: Barrasso incredible: Thanks to Tom Barrasso the Penguins extended their winning streak to 6 games as the St. Louis Blues were beaten 2-1. The Pens were totally outplayed in the second period but Tom made 29 saves to help the Pens win the game. German Titov scored a goal for the second night in a row.

990108: Pens win 5th straight: Tom Barrasso saved a penalty shot from Sami Kapanen with 66 seconds remaining of the game as the Pens beat the Canes 4-2. German Titov ended the scoring with his first goal since October 28th in the empty net. Jagr assisted on three Pens goals.

990107: Short message: Craig Patrick has> been named new CEO of the Penguins. He will still be general manager. I guess with the problems the Pens are facing heīll be pretty busy in the future!

990106: Two milestones in 5-1 victory: Tom Barrasso won his 336th win and is one game ahead of Gump Worsley on the all-time list. Kevin Hatcher also reached a milestone tonight. With his goal tonight he moved to the 10th place on the all-time goal-scoring list for defensemen.
It seldom happens, but it happened tonight: the Pens scored the first goal of the game. Jagr scored the only goal of the first period. In the second period Calgary tied the game. That goal was also the only goal of the period. In the 3rd period the Pens totally dominated the Flames and scored 4 goals (Hatcher, Kovalev, Straka, Lang). The Penguins could have scored even more goals since the Calgary-keeper was just a 5th chioce.
Also notable: The Penguin who recorded most assist in this game was Tom Barrasso with two assists.

990103: Career highlight for Barrasso: Tom Barrasso moved into a tie with legend Gump Worsley for 10th on the all-time list with his career victory no. 335 tonight. Kovalev had his best game as a penguin with 2 goals and one assist as the Florida Panthers where beaten 4-2.

981231: Pens win last game of the year: Kip Miller scored two goals. He hasnīt had a two goal game in 8 years. Lang and Straka also scored two goals, while Jagr scored one goal in a game that ended 7-4. It was a rough game with many fighting majors. 12 seconds after Robert Langīs second goal all ten players on the ice dropped the gloves. Referee Dan O'Halloran handed out six fighting majors on that incident. Late in the third period Slegr was involved in a fight with Ray Whitney.

981227: Jagr gives Pens OT-win: After being outscored 10-1 in the last two games the Pens won against Ottawa 2-1. Skudra had a good game! Last game of the year will be against Florida next Wednesday!

981223: Two losses: On Monday the pens lost to the Maple Leafs 7-1 and yesterday the lost at home to the Kings 3-0. But I donīt feel like writing any more about these games today. Iīll just settle with saying
Merry Christmas!!

981220: Barrasso records second shutout: Tom Barrasso made 24 saves as the Penguins beat the Capitals 3-0. The Pens really responded to the lousy Florida-game with a very good defensive effort. Alex Kovalev had a strong game with one goal and very good defensive play.
Iīm sorry there where no reports on the Tampa Bay and Florida-games.

981213: Goal-explosion in first period: After a week without any games the Pens beat the Blues away in St. Louis 4-3. They scored all four goals in the first period. How long did it take? 1 minute and 39 seconds! Pretty ok! Pierre Turgeon scored the first goal of the game before the four Pens-goals. Kovalev scored his first two goals for the Pens. Barnes and Jagr scored the other Pens goals. There were a total of six goals in the first period.
I still havnīt figured out why Stu Barnes plays in the 4th line. Why doesnīt Kevin Constantine give the second leading goalscorer the ice-time he deserves. The Penguins need his goals to win more games and he wonīt score sitting on the bench. Hopefully heīll play in the first or second line soon!

981206: Pens troubles continue: Jagr scored the only Pens goal in a 2-1 loss to the Bruins. Coach Constantine made som strange line moves. Itīs the first period that spoils games for the Pens. Boston scored two goals in the first period and that was enough!

981205: Pens meet Francis: The Pens faced Ron Francis in the red and white jersey for the first time and it ended with a 3-3 tie. Dan Kesaīs 3-3 goal was his first as a 'penguin and his first since December 17 1993.

981202: Four points from Jagr: Jagr scores again. In tonights 4-4 tie with Anaheim he recorded 2 goals and 2 assists. Hatcher and Straka scored one goal each. Former Penguin Fredrik Olausson scored one goal.

981129: Straka - Haps 4-3: Martin Straka is hot right now! In tonightīs game he netted his 3rd career HatTrick. Robert Lang scored one goal. Martin Straka has been fantastic this season and the loss of Ron Francis doesnīt seem that terrifying any longer. He is the best player on the Penguin-squad I think. What worries me is Jaromir Jagr. I donīt know how many games it has been since the last time he scored a goal. He gets an assist every once in a while but if he starts to get on the scoresheet too the Pens could REALLY compete! Maybe he needs a player like Ron Francis.

981128: Kovalev shines in 2-2 tie: In his first game as a Penguin Alexei Kovalev faced his old Rangers teammates. And he really showed them. Kovalev assisted on both Pens goals. New Ranger Petr Nedved assisted on one goal. He was also crushed once by Kasparaitis.

981126: Nedved-problem finally solved AND Caps - Pens 5-4: Despite a hat-trick from Stu Barnes the Pens lost to the Capitals 4-5.
But thatīs not the most important thing today. The Nedved-problem is finally solved. Craig Patrick came off with a five player trade with the Rangers. The trade sent Petr Nedved, Sean Pronger and Chris Tamer to the Rangers in exchange for Alexei Kovalev, Harry York and future considerations. Patrick wanted the future considerations to be $4 mil. in cash, but Gary Bettman said he wont allow such large amount of money in a trade.
Itīs great to have a player like Kovalev on the team I think. It will also put some pressure on Morozov who has been a disapointment this season. We lost Chris Tamer, so letīs just hope Patrick finds another substitute for Kasparaitis before he getīs hurt again. There have been some rumors about a trade involving Kevin Hatcher. The Pens really needed that $4 mil. Itīs a shame Bettman wonīt allow it.
Iīm happy this situation is solved. Nedved is a better player than Kovalev, but since Nedved had declared that heīs never going to play in Pittsburgh again the Pens almost got him for nothing. And when Kovalev is at his best he is REALLY good. Also keep in mind what Kevin Constantine has done with the Pens player this year. Everyone has really improved (esp. Straka) and so can Kovalev, I think.

981122: Another win over Tampa: After the Pens 5-1 win in Tampa the two teams went to Pittsburgh to play another game in the Igloo. The Pens won also this game 5-2. Martin Straka continues his fantastic play with 2 goals and one assist tonight. His first goal was the first shorthanded Penguin goal this season. Tampa player Darcy Tucker wasnīt feeling lucky this night. First he was heavily tackled by Kasparaitis when he tried to hit him. Then he was beat up by Tom Barrasso. In the last period he got into a fight with Tyler Wright. After Tommieīs incident with Tucker he left the game after re-injuring his back. This game was as ugly as the last game against Tampa!

981120: Pens win in Tampa: The Penguins rebounded from their pitful last game with a 5-1 win over the Lightning. Stu Barnes scored two goals. Tampa took the 1-0 lead in the first period. But the Pens rebounded and scored 5 goals in the second period. There were no goals in the third period which was an ugly one. There were a lot of penalties. Bobby Dollas and Brad Werenka was involved in fights when the Lightning-players began to loose their temper.

981118: Pens loose battle of Pennsylvania: Robert Lang scored the Pens only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Flyers.

981115: Barrasso shuts Panthers out: Tom Barrasso recorded his first shutout of the season in his second game after the injury. In the second period he made his best save in the evening when he stopped Dave Gagner on a breakaway AND controlled the rebound. He also tied the NHL record for career points by a goaltender with his 46th assist on Rob Brownīs goal which was his 100th as a Penguin. Kip Miller scored his first goal as a Penguin. Chris Tamer played tonight.

981114: Devils beat Pens: 15 minutes into the first period the Pens found themselves down by 3 to the Devils. But they regained the game and was able to tie it in the third period. However, a goal from McKay with 5 minutes left spoiled the evening!

981111: Finally a win at home: The Pens became the last team in the league to win a homegame. Thatīs ok though, since were at the top of Eastern Conference. The NY Islanders became the first team to loose in Pittsburgh this season.

981105: A little late: Iīm sorry I didnīt have the chance to update this page after yesterdays tie with the Flyers. Iīm sure none of you is unaware of the fact that Maxim Galanov scored two goals. I was very happy when I first heard we got him. These two goals doesnīt have to mean anything, but IF they do itīs certainly not bad.

981101: Pens loose in Edmonton: Rob Brown scored the Pens only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Oilers. I think itīs time to do something about the Nedved-situation. I think everybody knows he wonīt play for the Pens again. I think he could be traded for a quite skilled defenseman.

981029: Pens tie Canucks: Jiri Slegr was benched tonight. Thatīs a pity because the Pens D needs him. With him on the ice the Pens might have got a win! The score was 2-2.

981029: Iīm back: I am now back from my vacation in Spain and from now on this site will be updated again. You can updated results and scoring info!

981018: Pens tie third game: Tom Barrasso left the game in the first period and was replaced by Peter Skudra. Jaromir Jagr had an assist on every Penguin goal. Patrick Lebeau scored his first goal tonight.

981015: Pens defeat Devils: German Titov scored twice as the Pens won their second game. Stu Barnes scored one goal. The Penguins have started the season very good so far. The financial problems doesnīt seem to have an effect on the team (yet?). The next game will be the first homegame of the season when the Penguins face struggeling New York Rangers.

981011: Pens win first game: The Pens got off to a good start of the new season as they beat the Islanders in New York 4-3. After the first period the Penguins had a 4-1 lead but Trevor linden scored two goals in the second. I do believe coach Constantine may consider working on the boxplay though as Lindens both goals were scored on Islanders power-play. Jaromir Jagr scored the first goal on a power-play. Rookie Jeff Serowik had an assist on that goal.

981010: Big Night: Tonightīs the big night. The Pens will start the 98-99 season against the Islanders. The Penguin-squad is NOT strong this season. Weīll see how they can handle the other teams in the league.
The pens have claimed defenseman Maxim Galanov (NYR) and center Kip Miller (NYI) off the waivers.

980912: Rangers wants Jagr: The New York Rangers have talked to the Pens about a trade involving Jaromir Jagr. Iīve heard some rumors that the Pens would get a couple of players (Niklas Sundstrom among others) and lots of money! This would solve the Pens financial problems, but loosing Jagr is a big, BIG minus. The Pens have already lost Mario Lemieux and Ron Francis. I donīt think loosing Jagr too would be that good for the ticket sales!

980830: Lost free-agents: More and more players are heading out of Pittsburgh. Some of them are Eddie Olczyk (Chicago), Joe Dziedzic (Phoenix) and Fredrik Olausson (Anaheim). Does Craig Patrick think this will improve the team? The Pens are moving to a division with better and tougher teams. The Pens canīt compete with the teams in the Atlantic Division if they keep loosing players like Francis and Olausson. I have now lost all my respect for Craig Patrick. Sack the guy for crying out loud!!!

980812: Finally some updates: The Pens have signed Rob Brown to a 2-year deal. They have also signed Sean Pronger. The Penguins will most likely lose Fredrik Olausson, the teamīs #1 defenseman!
Roger Marino has talked to the mayor of Kansas City about moving the Penguins to that city. I donīt think we should be worried yet. This is TOO stupid even for him, but maybe.....

980719: Pens sign Werenka: After last weekīs stupidity when the Pens lost Francis GM C. Patrick has made ONE smart thing. Defenseman Brad Werenka is signed to a 2 year $1.1 mil contract. For a player like that itīs a good price!

980713: Pens without Ronnie: Yesterday when I wrote this I was in a state of chock. But I am (and was) not TOO chocked. We all know what our GM is capable of. Read my special report on this tragedy.

980713: Francis is gone: It is very hard to type this down. Penguins no. 1 center Ron Francis is gone. He signed a 4 year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes. Itīs hard to put any blame on him. He couldnīt choose Pittsburgh since Patrick didnīt give him a decent offer. Now Patrick must sign Nedved or another GOOD center. But I strongly doubt heīll do that. I strongly doubt heīll do anything with this team. We lost Francis, and now itīs time to get rid of another person; Mr Craig Patrick himself!
Thanks for the years, Ron. Weīll miss you! Good luck in the future!!

980627: Milan Kraft Pens #1: In the first round of this years Entry Draft the Penguins selected 18 year old Czech center Milan Kraft. According to the Central Scouting Report he is a player with good speed. Read the factsheet about Kraft (from nhl.com).
#2: Alexander Zevakhin, Wing
#3: David Cameron, Center
#4: Scott Myers, Goalie
#5: Robert Scuderi, Defense
#6: Jan Fadrny, Center
#7: Joel Scherban, Center
#8: Mika Lehto, Goalie
#9: Toby Petersen, Center
Matt Hussey ,Center

980627: NHL Expansion Draft: The Pens lost center Tony Hrkac to the Nashville Predators.

980625: NHL Awards Ceremony: Two trophies went to Pittsburgh players. As you all know Jaromir Jagr won the Art Ross Trophy. Ron Francis won the Lady Byng trophy. Jagr also recieved a spot in the All-Star Team!
Tonight is the night for the Expansion Draft. I wonder how many players we will loose!

980624: Expansion Draft list released: The biggest surprise for me is that the Pens didnīt protect Fredrik Olausson. Instead they protected Tamer. It could have something to do with the fact that Olausson is free-agent! They didnīt protect new penguin Bobby Dollas either! Hereīs the complete list:

980620: Roster moves: Hi and welcome to my new page. I hope you will like the new look.
There has been some movement on the Pens roster. The Penguins have acquired defenseman Bobby Dollas and center Tony Hrkac from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for the rights to Josef Beranek. Iīm very happy with Bobby Dollas but I donīt know very much about Tony Hrkac.
From the Calgary Flames they acquired centers German Titov and Todd Hlushko in exchange for Ken Wregget and Dave Roche. Titov is an improvement but I donīt know about Hlusko.
The Pens have acquired three centers. I really donīt hope Craig Patrick thinks they can replace Ron Francis. Ronnie has to be signed to the Pens. Who can replace him? Maybe a player like Wayne Gretzky or Adam Oates.
The Penguins have also signed right winger Boris Protsenko and defenseman Michal Rozsival. Not all players will stay in Pittsburgh. They will probably be used in the expansion draft.
