Scen Maria Stockholm 980116

So we got this gig in Stockholm at Scen Maria. No one of us had been to that place before so we had a really hard time finding it. Anyway, it was the guys in the band and Pat + Henrik J AKA Monty (after Mongomery Burns in the Simpsons). We travelled with bus down to Stockholm and we were really noisy and disturbing (at least we did our best). I found out that you can actually get behind the last row of seats in the back of the bus - then you can stretch out and lie there. It’s not so comfortable but it’s VERY cool. Trust me.

We didn’t do too much stuff on Friday 16th except for dropping by at the furshop on Drottninggatan! We just walked in to look around when a guy who was called Berra met up with us and told us to get out. We replied that we wanted to look around but he got angry and yelled to us that we had to buy something. Then he pushed us out of the shop and onto the street. Dan said to him that he just wanted to look around and then he said; ”Alright then! Look around! And he followed Dan into the shop and was going to close the door. He was really upset and threatening so Dan wanted to go out. Then Berra ran after him and screamed a bunch of stuff to him/us. And the owner came out and commanded Berra to stay calm with an authoritative voice. Berra stopped and explained that he was so tired of people like us. And finished hwith telling Dan that he was a ” fucking garlic-human.” We just laughed. It was so funny. A bit scary too - but mostly funny...

Anyway, we got to the showplace and it was really cool. Sort of a basement, and the concert hall itself was small and nice. A great place for punk gigs. The first band to play was Last Match. They sounded something like Born Against meets Locust and was really good! I liked them best actually. After them there was this punkcrustband called Blind Obedience. Their singer was deaddrunk and destroyed two mics  (and he screamed in my ear earlier that night - fuck him). Then it was our turn. We played the songs from the demo + a cover of Fugazi - Great Cop - it was fun. Maybe we didn’t play our best show cause we fucked some shit up but... It was a really fun show anyway. I had fun. And, after all,  some people seemed to like us! After us, Scum Brigade played. And they’re pretty cool, even though I’m not into their music that much.
We also got to know some cool people that let us stay at their apartment. That might have been just as fun as the show. Thanks for everything!

On the day after that we just hung around in Stockholm. Some of us carried big bags at the end of that day. No names... I bought a Young Pioneers 7” - On Trial. It was pretty ok. Other than that I mostly spent my hard-earned money on falaffels and other shitty foodstuff. As Ritter Sport Marzipan. Yuck. The best place we visited was Lava - ”the demotek.” We hung there for hours and I could’ve hung there for several hours more.
Oh, yeah - we went to some second hand shops and I found some cool stuff; a USA-vest (which all the punx at the show just hated) and a yellow t-shirtkindathing, kinda womenish. Another great thing with Stockholm is that they’ve got these vegan chocolate-puddings. Not so great was that one of those scrubbdiddely-yumde-things burst in my rucksack and all of my new clothes got dirty and messy. Aaaarrgghhhh!

Well, what more can be said? We were almost a bit tired when we sat our fat asses on the bus to SVL. There was no room back behind the last row of seats on this buss. That was bad.
