THANKS!
I just now came across your page of concert reviews and thought I would
add mine:
I went to see Alice for the 20th time at the Michigan State Fair in
Detroit..it was in late July, 1998..even tho I can tell you the first
time Isaw Alice was on Dec. 19th in 1971, I am not sure of the date of this
one...(Old age and a lot of partying. LOL)..
Anyways, I was excited about this time because even tho I have seen
Alice several times, I have never been able to get good tickets...well, my
wife(Bonnie), and my best friend Bill and his wife Mary had gotten
tickets in the 13th row..I was a little disappointed when we got there, because we
were off pretty the far left..When the opening strains of Hello Hooray rang
out..I was hit with a surge of adrenaline..About 10 seconds in..my wife yelled
out.."3 rows up, closer to the middle"..she had spied some empty
seats..after that, it didn't matter, because we kept moving forward, jumping over
seats and darting down aisles as fast as my 46 year "suddenly young" legs would
carry me..by the time the song was over, we were in the 2nd row center..Seats
didn't matter anymore.
My heart was beating a mile a minute, and my smile was wider then
the stage at that point..He was sounding great, (I actually think his voice has
sounded better the last 3 times I have seen him then at any time during his long
career) and the band sounded perfect! When he went into the song
Poison, my wife (an animated blonde) clamored over the seat in front of her and
was just starting to stand up on it when Alice came to our part of the stage,
singing "YOUR POISON" and suddenly thrust the cane out in her direction. She
looked up just in time to see it..and was taken so much by surprise, that she
fell over backwards..I was laughing so hard it was all I could do to break her
fall..Everyone around was laughing, and I even saw a rare smile
(something usually not seen from the onstage Alice) come to his face...
After that, Alice had brought out a sword, with speared $ bills on
it...he would hold them above the crown, just out of their outreached
hands..when he would see someone poised to jump...he would sudden flick his wrist up
at the perfect time, so that it would still be just out of reach..Then, he
would take his gloved hand and "rake" the bills off to the frenzied fans..He did
that a few times, until there was only 1 left..then he pointed the sword out
over the heads of the people in the very front, and held it aloft so that only
my wife could pull the last one off..We were all going crazy..
Later, the guitar players threw "picks" in our direction and my wife
got one of those too..
The song selection was great..just hit after hit after hit..then,
he went into my favorite song..Halo of Flies, the intricate, mostly instumental
song that features short solo's by every musician..it was perfect.. Bill
looked at me and yelled, "THAT is the best song I have ever heard done by anyone
live!"
A impressive testimonial from somebody that has probably seen over 40
concerts just with me (including Queen, the Who, Zeppelin, McCartney, Bruce
Springsteen, and U2)..The truth was..I had to agree, it was that
good..The kind of song that even if you had never heard it before.. you wanted to
go out and buy the album it was on ( as my brothers co worker that was also
there, actually did, 2 days later)
It was just a magical night that I will remember forever..The shows
are less elaborate now, which means it is just mainly the songs with a
little bit of "entertainment" thrown in, and altho I always loved the "Big Shows",
this still was the best I had ever seen him.....
I can't wait till he comes back again!

WHAT A DAY!! WHAT A DAY!! thats all i can say!!
Place: Atlantic City ,New Jersey, USA
Date: September 5th 1998
The wait was killing me, I had these tickets for over4 months!! I was
reading reviews about Alice from all over the world, and i could not wait!!
this was to be the 23rd time I had the pleasure of seeing "THE MASTER"!! After the
1 1/2 hour drive from Philly, and a case of Coronia beer, I was READY!! A jump
in the ocean, a spin of a slot machine,a couple deals of the cards, and it was
time!!
I get over to the Trump Marina to get in line,i had a cast on and i was on crutches!!
That demeanor, not only saved me from waiting in a loooooooooooooooooong line,
but put me in the front row!!!
I got to meet Renfeild, and gave him a hug!! and then a pretty good
magician stepped on the stage, he was good, got the mood stirred a little more!!
then, the lights went low!!every one rushed the stage!!so i had to be sure,
and strong, to keep my front row status!!the clowns were on stage sweeping
and frolocking around!!the band kicked in!!
and ALICE COOPER burst out of a giant toy chest!!
He is great for a big entrance!!
Hit after hit!!Alice was so in groove and on key!! I think the
Atlantic Ocean stopped for a while to witness the Master!! he was so cool and in
control up there!! I felt like a virgin again!! and at 50, he was more relaxed and
tuned up then i had ever seen him before!! afetr a couple of Alice hits, he
kicked out Lost in America!! and man did they Rock the Joint with that one!!
he was the capatain of this ship!! Halo of flys , and unfinished sweet, were
flawless!!they brought me back to days i would lay in my Alice covered
walls at Moms house and light my incense!! the whellchair and makeup, gave me
chills!! the way he was in the tomb and then in a split
second, undreesing from a clown suit was awesome!! this guy is no doubt the GREATEST ever!!
The band was note for note, on everything!! as was Alice!!
as the ring master, he was very luring!! and the mimed assaults during
only woman bleed was priceless!! when Alice did I never Cry, i shed a few
tears!! It was my Mothers favorite Coop tune, and she is no longer with us!! he
was so perfect, and animated when he sang that!! EVERYONE was in awe, even
though it was a cleaner, older.straiter Cooper than the world has known, he still
gives a great show!! he still goes that extra inch to please us!!if he would
say he is the Lord, i would start the church now!! the white tails and top
hat were great during Schools Out!! and i know for show, that Elvis got a good
nights rest, after hearing Alice do Jail house Rock!!
i'm not sure if the Spice Girls would be able to handle Alice Spice!!
but it does make a great shirt!! now that it is over, iam waiting for the new
Alice stuff to come out!! and the new tour to be annouced, and maybe to golf a
few holes with ,THE MASTER!!!
Just remember, while the others grow silent,, Alice keeps Rockin!!
"this dreams a novel, that i don't dare complete......
L8R, spread the word"ALICE COOPER" use his name at least once a day,and
let people know that there is one Rock star, that gives back to the fans!!
Thank you Erik for this great page!!!

Name of the Festival : Graspop Metal Meeting
Date: 29 / 6 / 1997
It was a rainy day, and the meadow was so dirty, you could swim in the
mud. I walked around the festival for a few hours, waiting to see the
King of ShockRock that evening.
Then Alice Cooper finally showed up. He was in great shape ! The
musicians started "Under my wheels" right away and Alice started to
sing, the audience screamed.
Next song was "I'm Eighteen". Everybody raised their fists and yelled
"I'm Eighteen, and I don't know what I want". Next songs were
"B$B","Desperado", the song from Wayne's World "Feed my Frankenstein",
"Be my lover", and everybody started to jump in the mud with "Poison".
The concert went on with great songs, they even played the long "Halo
of Flies", "Go to Hell", the acts "Streetfight" and "Ballad of Dwight
Fry" were terrific too.
He went to change his clothes several times, but I thought he look
great in what he wore when he came up for the first time.
He said goodbye with "School's out" and "Elected".
It was a great evening, even it rained.......
Hey, I hope he'll be back here soon ! ! ! ! ! !

Place: Jones Beach
Date: August 13, 1997
"Hello...Hooray...Let the show begin, I feel ready", was the opening line of Alice Cooper's Rock Carnival, which stormed into
New York's Jones Beach Theatre last Wednesday, August 13th. Backed up by Slaughter, Warrant, and Dokken, Alice
returned to legendary form in his latest live theatrical spectacular.
Forget last year's tour which was basically a watered-down greatest hits (here ya go 12 songs- I'm outta here) strokeoff, this
long awaited Carnival of the Macabre hosted by the evil showman (Alice himself) was just what the doctor ordered for all us
hard core sickies who've been jonesing for the full blown stage show for the last seven years.
The stage was impressively decorated to resemble some sort of sick sideshow, festooned with bright colored lights and clowns
and a funhouse backdrop. Oddly enough, this show seemed to be in support of his 1994 release "The Last Temptation" his last
studio effort and the three act comic book titled " The Compleat Alice Cooper".
Alice and his band looked and sounded absolutely spectacular as he performed many of his classics as well as some newer
songs and some rare oldies that haven't been performed live in years. Also making its return was the snake wrapped around
Alice's neck as he sang, delivered by clowns...how refreshing. Interestingly, AC performed almost the entire show without his
trademark eye paint until it was applied against his will by the clowns for the last two songs. This place rocked nonstop for 90
minutes, slowing down only for his ballad "Only Women Bleed".
Some of his more obscure songs performed included "From the Inside", "Public Animal #9", "Unfinished Sweet", and the
lengthy and chilling "Halo of Flies". Alice could have gotten a Tony Award for his performance of the evil carnival barker for
the song "Nothings Free" donned in a top hat, purple ruffles and tails. Step inside kiddies!
It is amazing to see that Alice and all that he stands for has withstood the test of time and can still go out and kick some major
ass, and his live horror shows still can entertain even the most marginal of rock fans. I would highly advise anyone to check this
legend out while he is still putting on these extremely entertaining productions.
Set List:
Hello Hooray, Sideshow, Billion $ Babies, No More Mr. Nice Guy, Halo of Flies, I'm 18, From the Inside, Be My Lover,
Poison, Nothings Free, Only Women Bleed, Cleansed by Fire, Public Animal #9, Lost In America, Cold Ethyl, Unfinished
Sweet, School's Out, Encore: Under My Wheels

the year was 1987 the place, philadelphia,pa Tower Theater ,march 9th!
it was the "raise your fist and Yell" tour i was already excited, not only because Alice
was in town, but it was on my birthday!!!(what a great gift) the tour bus was waiting outside
alongside the Tower, and so were a few fans that did not want to see the opening act "the
Vinnie Vincent Band" altho he played with Kiss for a while, it is no easy task
opening for Alice Cooper! while listening to the opening act through
the walls Alice's band storms out of the tour bus Ken K Mary(drummer) Jonny
Dime(guitarist)Steve Steele(bassist) Paul Horowitz(keyboards)and then The big guy Kane Roberts(lead guitrist)
as i was watching them guys run down the walkway to the stage door,i
took a look back at the tour bus door, and there he was, in full drag, the
reason why i was there!!
ALICE COOPER!! right in an arms reach! ,but i couldn't move! i was so
overwhelmmed,we made eye contact!! me and the COOP!! the last time i
seen him like that i fainted!! and that is all that stayed in my mind,"don't be
stoopid" stay afloat! the two gigantic body guards excoting Alice to the show said"O.K.boss
lets go!" they were so big i lost vision of Alice in their mass!! but for a
second I made eye contact with Alice that was better than gettin laid!! i rushed
to the door so i could now get to my seat and see the show!! as i walked in
the arena was playing some classic rock hits from different bands.i bought a
shirt ,tour book, pin, and hat went to my seat and just as i caught my breathe, the
lights grew dim............
it was eirie, the crowd applauded and got lowder and lowder!!the band
played some intro music as the lights grew, the crowd was in a freinzy, no
sight of Alice .i was yelling my lungs out!! all the sudden Alice broke through
a wall of brick and just stood there for a minute!! i think i came!! it was
awesome!!! he waked around the stage just staring at the crowd as they
were yelling screaming clapping , and Raising there fists!! they went into
:Under My Wheels" and the whole show was a smoke!!!
Alice did some great tunes that show,he did the of corse tunes,
eighteen, welcome to my nightmare, only woman bleed, is it my body,ect..along
with the heaviest tunes he ever wrote off of the "Raise your Fist and Yell "
album, freedom, chop chop chop, gail, roses on white lace...and then for
the first time i heard him do DEAD BABIES and then he did the gallows !!
were he got hung!! it was the best i have ever heard or seen Alice!! after the
white tux and Schools Out! the show was over!!
every one was just just dying down after at least 15 strait minutes of
applause the lights came back on and it was over!! but even his stage
crew while cleaning up did a little dance around the stage to a weird tune
over the P.A! the show stays in my mind so clear ,not because it was my
birthday, but because i made eye to eye contact with , the leader of the pac!!!
thanks for listening

Date: June 6, 1998
Alice´s Band:
Pete Friesen and Rob Beach - Guitars
Paul Taylor and Todd Jensen - Basguitars
Jimmy De Grasso on drums
----------------------------------------------------------
It was a great show! I have only seen Alice once before, under the Hey Stoopid world tour in 1991.
I have waited for Alice since then and now he came to Sweden for one show only. I would not want
to miss it for anything in the world!
It was in Karlshamn that Alice played, it was a outdoor show. He started his show 11:30 in the night. After Dee Snider,
Motorhead, Blue Oyster Cult and Mountain were finished with thier shows. Alice entered the stage and the Carnival started.
Alice chased the clowns away and started with "No more mr nice guy". He also did the Swedish favorite "He´s Back", played guitar on "I´m Eighteen".
On "Be my lover" one clown gave Alice his snake. Great versions of "Billion Dollar Babies", "Lost In America", "Poison",
"Only Women Bleed", "Cleansed By Fire" and "School´s Out" to name a few.
But one of the greatest moments in the show was the superb "Halo Of Flies", a very long version of that song.
It was great to hear that song live!
Another magical moment was on "Unfinished Sweet". I will not tell you what happend.
Go and see the show and find out.
For extra numbers Alice did "Jailhouse Rock". Yes, the Elvis song! Alice came in with sunglases (remeber it was night!)
and a silver jacket. "Under My Wheels" finnished the show.
All people I talked to after the show said that Alice was best that night and they were right!
Noone that night came near the show that Alice gave us.
THANKS ALICE FOR A GREAT SHOW! WE LOVE YOU! HE´S BACK!!!
This is what the Swedish newspapper had to say about Alice:
- Alice knows how to entertain!
Aftonbladet
- It is always a big show when Alice is on stage!

...if there is one gig I will remember for the rest of my years it was
last nights at the London Astoria. I've seen Alice only Twice before,
both times at Wembley Arena. These shows were o.k..........but suffered
from 1)bad sound 2) bad choice of songs.
I am however probably slightly biased however prefering the earlier ACG
stuff to any of the Albums such as Trash etc.
I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I would never hear
any of what I would call the classic songs live. By this I mean the
songs that got me into Alice in the first place and still sound fresh
today...
I've seen many gigs by many different artists and have played many gigs
myself so I think that I can be fairly objective when it comes to
reviewing a performance.
Certain moments in life are what can only be described as magic.
Combinations of your own mood at the time, audience mood and a kind of
airborne electricity. Something so right as Paul Simon once sang...
The support band that I saw (Glitter I think they were called) were
thrashy but injected a good energy into the place...
Then 3 clowns yes clowns were on the stage, and the band opened with
Hello Hooray, Alice is on the stage and "Hello Hooray let the show
begin..." a quick montage/medley of Billion dollar babies and I'm
already impressed and moving. Alice is somehow younger than the last
times that I saw him. No bullshit only real prop was the snake a little
later in the show (and a coffin) and he didn't need any of it.
The stage is dressed up like a Carnival or circus and the band !! These
guys, don't know who they all are but they all did justice to the
original sound of the songs
Just can't get over the fact of hearing/seeing some of my all time
favourites played.
Public Animal # 9...brilliant, Unfinished Sweet...unbelievable, Halo of
Flies...how the hell they all got it so right is beyond me. And then
some of the standards expected but still high energy. Be my
Lover...yahoo, From the inside(for the intro to this Alice was saying "I
used to drink a lot" and for some bizarre reason as I downed my Lager
this just brought a huge smile to my face.) But what a song to play.
Unexpected and fantastic
Won't give you the whole setlist, don't really think thats fair on any
of you that want to be surprised, can't remember the exact running order
anyway.
Just go and see him now and enjoy it...
Alice's voice was also in fine form which actually surprised me as I
truely believed that he'd be conserving it as he's playing so many gigs
back to back. Not so...What a Night.
The Killer's back....
