AIR OPERATIONS OF EUROPE


Air Operations of Europe (or just Air Ops) was started in 1993 with one L-1011. At itīs peak in the summer of 1995 the fleet consisted of 8 Tristarīs and 3 Airbus A300-B4`s. The company did not went bankrupt but was closed down in may 1996.


SE-DPV (L-1011-1, serial no 193B-1030) is seen here while landing at Male airport, Maldives in april 1995 after a flight from Johannesburg, South Africa. The aircraft has TIA (Tajikstan International Airlines) markings due to another contract.


SE-DPV in itīs new paintscheme at Gatwick Airport, London, England (english weather !!) This aircraft was flying for TBG in England as EI-TBG after Air Ops was closed down. It was broken up for spares late 1997 in Bournemouth, England.


SE-DPP "Olivia" (L-1011-50, serial no 193B-1072) photographed early morning in Khartoum, Sudan while flying for Sudan Airways.


SE-DPP in Zagreb, Croatia in june 1995 while flying UN soldiers between Malaysia and Croatia.


SE-DPP again, here just before landing at Gatwick Airport, London, England. This aircraft is now registered TF-ABM and operated by Air Atlanta. For some time it was wetleased to Iberia, klick here for a picture.


SE-DPX "Eve" (L-1011-50, serial no 193B-1091) in Kigali, Rwanda. Air Ops were flying Ghurka soldiers out of the civil war in Rwanda. Note the bullet-holes in the Air Rwanda-airstair.

SE-DPX on a daystop in Foz du Iguazo, Brasil, october 1995. The colorful paintscheme of SE-DPP and SE-DPX is due to their previous life with Hawaiian Airlines. After Air Ops SE-DPX flew for Nordic European Airlines but was broken up for spares in Stockholm in june 1998.


SE-DPM (L-1011-50, serial no 193N-1145) in Malaga, Spain on Christmas Eve 1994. As seen here, this aircraft had a modified Caledonian Airways (ex G-BEAL) paintscheme in the beginning. This was the only Air Ops L-1011 to have 8 wide doors and seating capacity was an impressive 393 passengers.


SE-DPM is seen here in Teneriffe in itīs new colors. After Air Ops this aircraft went back to english register as G-CEAP for Caledonian Airways and later on as G-IOIT for Classic Airways. Itīs now parked at Stanstead airport in England and used for ground training.


SE-DSB (L-1011-1, serial no 193B-1059) on final approach for Gatwick Airport, London, England. After Air Ops this aircraft went to Air Ops International but was leased to Nordic European Airlines. When NEA went bancrupt in early 1998 the aircraft was broken up for spares in Stockholm.


SE-DSC (L-1011-50, serial no 193B-1065) in Biarritz, France 1995 while flying for Air Inter.
Before this aircraft joined Air Ops, it was a moviestar in Stephen Kingīs "Langoliers". This aircraft was broken up in mid 1996.


SE-DSD (L-1011-100, serial no 193B-1215) in Nigerīs capitol Niamey while flying muslims from Mecca for Air Afriqe in may 1995. This aircraft was parked at Manchester airport from the day Air Ops closed down (may 1996) until spring of 1999. It then did a two-engine flight to Roswell, New Mexico where it is now parked as P4-JAB and may be used by Aerocontinente (Peru).


SE-DSD, still in Air Afrique markings, in Dushanbe, Tajikstan while flying for Tajikstan International Airlines (TIA). Offloading of cargo is done with a russian "highloader".


SE-DSE (L-1011-1, serial no 193B-1013) on take-off run at Rodos, Greece. This aircraft was delivered to Aero Continente (with registration P4-JAA) in Lima, Peru in mid-december 1996, klick here for a picture. It is now in storage in Roswell, New Mexico.

SE-DPP is the only one still flying. SE-DSD and SE-DSE are parked with uncertain futures. SE-DPM is used for ground training and will probably not fly again. All the others have been broken up for spares.
