TAJIKSTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES (TIA)
L-1011 flights operated by Air Ops.
In early 1995, Air Ops got a contract with TIA to operate between London
Heathrow and Delhi, India with a fuelstop in Dushanbe, Tajikstan (and
sometimes in Istanbul, Turkey as well....).There was one flight per week.
The flights were made with several different aircrafts of the Air Ops fleet
and that is the reason why they sometimes had TIA titles. The contract was
cancelled in mid-1995. Later on TIA leased (?) one L-1011-500 (serial no
1240) from TAP (Air Portugal) to operate the same service but that aircraft
was returned (taken back ?) after less than a month. And if anyone thinks he
has been to a bad runway, try going to Dushanbe......
De-icing in Dushanbe. A truck with some fluid (?), a hose, two men and
a ladder. The two men are walking on the wing of SE-DPV trying to flush the
snow away. It works but it takes a lot of time.

Air Ops does not exist any longer so there will probably not be any major updates.
