Hi, this is the story of me, Sven Oscar Johannes Wigilius-Sjöqvist.

I was born on May 18, 2002, in the Central Hospital CSK in Kristianstad, at 2 minutes past 10 p.m. I was really in a hurry to get out, as I wasn’t supposed to be born until June 9. But still my dimensions were quite normal: 3425 grams, 50 cm. The delivery was also very quick. My parents came in to the hospital just before 6 p.m., and at 8.30 p.m. my head started knocking hard to come out.

When I finally was born my daddy cut the navel string, and then I had a nap in his arms while my mummy was resting. After an hour or so I got my first meal. The nurse had to help me a bit to find out how to do, but then I enjoyed the meal for more than an hour. At 3.30 am we were moved to the maternity section, and I slept for almost 24 hours.

On the third day I woke up and was really hungry again, but I had problems to find mummy's breast. I got some more help from the nurses, and was also fed from a cup. The more I practised, the better I could find my food.

On the fifth day I was supposed to go home, but as I had a little jaundice I had to stay for an extra day to get some treatment with artificial daylight.

When I finally came home, mummy had a lot of work to give me enough to eat. Sometimes I could eat for three hours in a row, with just one hour between the meals. I guess mummy didn't get so much sleep, but what else could we do? I was hungry, and if I didn't get food I was really angry.

The days past and on the weekend my maternal grandparents, Gudrun and Helge, came to see us. They brought me flowers and a nice suit costume with a cap, which was very useful in the evenings when we went for walks with my pram. I also got a nice hibiscus tree from my paternal grandmother, Brita. A lot of relatives and friends also sent me cards and presents in the post.

Now and then I have to come to the child welfare clinic to check my weight, length, etc. In the beginning my parents were a bit worried that I didn't put on enough weight, but then I started to increase with 300 - 400 grams a week. This is how it looks so far:
