A Utopian affair, Apple records was a label initially aimed at providing a record outlet to anyone The Beatles liked. (John Lennon told the media at the label's launch party: "We want to allow anyone with a talent to express it without having to come crawling on their knees to someone like you.")
Apple effectively became merely a Beatle outlet after John, George and Ringo threw in their lot with Alan Klein.
Meanwhile Paul vainly argued that his records should only appear on Parlophone or Capitol.
Even during the label's heyday, many of  Apple's records did appear bearing Parlophone prefixes. Finally, in an attempt to establish a MOJO connection, it should be mentioned that Charles Shaar Murray, a frequent contributor to MOJO mag, was part of the group that fashioned Apple 36. But he never boasted about the royalty cheques!

Not issued: FRANK SINATRA - The Lady Is a Tramp - Apple 1
According to former Apple exec Tony Bramwell, this was never intended for Apple release but was a test pressing that contained a version of the song with lyrics by Sammy Cahn. It was given to Ringo's wife, after which the master was destroyed.
