This rush is one of my favourites. It really rocks on island maps. Of course there are ways to fend of a muta rush, but not very many people know how to do and it's pretty hard. I know that there is a faster way to do the Muta rush but if you do like this you'll have more minerals and be able to build some spore colonies if the other one also does the Muta rush. Read carefully and good luck.


As soon as you start the game, press down CTRL and click on one of your drones. Then rightclick on the minerals. After that, click on the Hatchery and press S and then D.
Now it's a good time to set your allies and change latency if necessary.

Make your new drone get minerals as soon as it is ready and then wait until you can build another drone. When it is done, the numbers in the upper right corner should say 7/9. Then build a Spawning pool (you might have to wait for a while).

Then build another drone and when it is done you make it get minerals as you build an Overlord. You should have 100 minerals by now. Now build two more drones and build an Extractory with the first one make the other one go for minerals as you build more drones. The first one that is ready shall get minerals. The following three shall get gas. Build one more drone and the numbers in the right corner should say 13/18 now. Build an Overlord and then save your money until you can upgrade your Hatchery to Lair. Now build drones untill the numbers in the right corner says 18/25....then build another Overlord. Now build more drones and all of them shall get minerals except for two of them. One of them builds Evolution Chamber and the other one builds Spire when the Lair is done. Then pump drones till the Spire is done, also build a few Spore Colonies. Then when the spire is done...build about 6-8 Mutas and attack. Hopefully he has no defense yet.
