Travel Through Time
The thing that most people have wanted to do atleast once in their life.
It isn't easy to execute a time trip, if it is at all possible.
Let's for now imagine that it works, ok. There are a couple of things to
think about when you are going to build a time machine;
How does time work ?
Well, time might be another dimension like X,Y and Z, if it is then it
must be possible to travel along it, and it is, we do it every day.
Each and every second we travel through time, but we only move forward,
so we don't really know that it is another dimension.
Imagine time as a straight line through the universe, and every time you
make a decision you make time take a turn, just like a tree and its branches.
If this is how time works then travel to the future would be interesting,
since there are almost an unlimited number of future variations.
Let us assume 'D' equals decisions you have to make in your life and 'P' equal
the number of living creatures in the universe through time, which is unknown
to us at present day, then the equation would be something like this:
The result 'F' is the number of futures possible. Remeber that every decision that
any living creature makes changes the future, all might not be visible to the
naked eye, never the less it changes.
If time behaves like this then the past looks like we know it but the future
is created by our actions, that would mean that the astrologers are way off.
If the astrologers believe that our future are already staked out, nothing we do
will change it. Well, then travel to the future will always create the same result.
Not so exciting but then we would learn about what is going to happen and we could
prepare our self for the inevitable and do what we can before it's too late.
That would mean that we could travel back and fourth in time without being able
to change anything.
(Gee, how fun would that be? Hope that's wrong!)
Then there is another possibility; All time is now! Every moment is happening
at this very point we just move around among the different realities of time,
like a pawn on a 3D checker board. This would be the most complex type of time
to travel in because the past isn't only as we know it but as versatile as
the future. There would also be the same amount of variations of the present.
Where do you want to go ?
WHERE!? You ask, don't you mean when? Yes BOTH when and where, you need both!
Take a point in time and tell me where you were, and I'll tell you that you are
wrong. This is due to the motion of the earth in space.
First of all the earth is revolving around it's axel.
Second of all the earth is moving around the sun.
And third, the sun is moving around the galaxy.
And then the galaxy is moving around something else and every thing is moving
around the center of the universe.
I've heard something about the speed that we are moving through space it was
calculated to about 65,000 mph, that's 18 miles each second.
If we should want to move back or fourth in time we would have to know the
position of the earth at that very moment.
IE: 2 hours ago the earth was about
130,000 miles from the current position, a BIG step to take, don't you think.
Then if we over come the problems of time and space, and we manage to put together
a machine that could take us anywhere in time then there is no problem if the
astrologers are correct.
If they are not, we have another problem.
How can I tell that the machine works ?
To see if it works you must travel forward in time. Why? What will happen if it
works and you travel back? Maybe nothing or you might be sent to the past, it's
hard to tell. If you go to the past and you do something that changes the present,
you might not have built the machine and thus not have gone back and thus you
couldn't have changed anything.... and so on.
So if you go back and make a big change in the present it might seem like it didn't
work. (Did you get that?)
Ok, here is an example; you travel back in time, and kill one of your parents before they have met
each other, then you would not have been born and thus you couldn't go back and
do that dastardly deed. This makes you think that the machine doesn't work, because
nothing seems to happen.
There is also the possibility that you will wind up in an unending time loop.
You go back you do the stupid thing, you can't be born, you can't have gone back
and it never happened so you go back and do the deed..... forever and ever.
Tragedy on an universal scale!
