Platan Brewery - Protivin
The platan brewery dates back to 1598.The beer was then brewed in the lokal castle which was
owned by a few aristocratic houses.In 1711,the Schwartsenberg family gaind control and thanks
to them the new brewery was built between 1873-1876.The Schwartsenbergs kept it until 1947.
In 1895 the first dissemination station of brewing yeast in Bohemia was built there as well as
one of the first laboratories for tecnical and chemical inspection of beer production.The brewery
is situated within 14 hectares covered with wood and parks,which creates a marvellous backdrop
for the historical buildings of the brewery.
The production capacity of the brewery is over 40 000000 l of 4.0% 4,5% 5,0% light beer.And
4,0% dark and light beer for diabetics.The ”Platan” trade-mark is within the top ten best-known
Czech beer brands and 4,5% light lager is one pf the most appreciated beers of it,s kinde.In the
last few yeares, the brewery has been extensivley reconstructed in the future this reconstruction
will allow an extention of the range of produkts as well as guaranteeing the quality of all our
beers.
