Samson Brewery-Ceske Budejovice
The Samson Brewery was built in 1795 as the Budejovice Citizens’ Brewery but beer had been
brewed in Ceske Budejovice since as early as the foundation of the town by Premysl Otakar II,
in 1265. In 1795 the large and small breweries merged and in 1847 Budejovice’s brewers bought
a piece of land near the Malse River on the Linz Square and started to build the brewery which
we now call ”Samson”.
The citzen brewery was a major brewery from the very beginning and exported beer not only to
many Europen cities, but also to America. Many prizes at czech and foreign exhibitions
confermed the high quality of domestic and exported beer.
In 1992 the brewery achieved record beer sales of 31 500000 l. The current range of products
includes:4,5% 4,8% 5,1% abv,light beer and 4,5% abv dark beer.The beer is deliverd in 30l and
50l kegs.bottels 05l,cans 033l.
In December 1993 5,1% lager beer obtained the prestigious CZECH MADE mark for the best
quality Czech products.
