Glavna street
Routed in roman age it always represented main traffic through city and its busines and
cultural center.Despite few recently built buildings, it kept old architecture and
enviroments complex , in which dominats few notable buildings.
House number 6 is angular one-storied building raised at the end of XVIII century in style
of classicism.In this house was born Dimitrije Davidovic (1789-1838) editor of the first
serbian newspapers (1813),diplomat,minister and author of the first Constitution of
renewal Serbia whats mentioned on memorial placed in house.
House number 9 is building built in 1840 in romantism style and shaped in style of
pseudogotic.It was property of once famouse greek trade family Spirta and since 1971 there
is Home Museum of Zemun.
House number 18 is one-storeyed building shaped in style of ampira with angular
erker It was built in 1823 and famous public worker and writer Jovan Subotic(1817-1886)
lived in it.On facade toward Dubrovacka street is solar clock.
House number 45 is one-storeyed building built around 1800 .It has preserved beautiful old
gate.By one of the former owner the house was called Afrodita Bialo.
House number 46 is one-storeyed building built in 1881 by plans of modern serbian
architect Jovan Ilkica who was born in Zemun.Its well known as memorial of Laketic
