Home Museum of Zemun

Building belonged to old rich and powerful greek trade family of Spirta.It was built around 1848 by plans of unknown architect who glorifyed gotic style in the spirit of presence romantism.By Architectural merits and richly equiped enterior(wall paintings and ornaments, parquet, Intarzirani parket,stylish ceramic batches and chimney) it separates from other Zemun’s houses of that time
.It’s evident it affirmed special social position and taste of members of this family whose member Pavle Spirta get noble title in 1856 and right for family shield.Main part of building, which facade was composed in sheme of uneven numbres, caracteristic for period of romantism, in level of one-storeyed houses with which it was linked in street block, from 1968 to 1970 was thoroughly restored under control of College for safeguard of cultural monuments in Belgrade so that in it could be arranged immanent exposition of Home Museum of Zemun…
