Nemanjina street and JNA square

This mansion was established in the period before the II World War by spreading in direction to Belgrade.On part of the square which makes elongation of  Glavna street first building was todays house number 10 built in 1908. in secesion style.In 1908/09 in this house was placed Co-operative society for drainage of southeastern Srem and today it has apartment-economicaly assignment .
The house number 8 was built in 1909 by plans of wienas architect Frederik Oman. It was built in the spirit of historicism with emphasized baroc elements.Houses number 6 and 4 are identical one storeyed buildings made in 1911 and 1912 in the style of secesionism by the plans of belgrade architect Stojan Titelbah.
Monumental and representativ building or Airforce Command was built in 1935 by the plans of architect Dragisa Brasovan and it belongs to the most important acts of modern serbian architecture.On the facade toward the Glavna street there is the statue of Icar, act of sculptore Zlata Markov.This building has also historical meaning because the army rebelion under leadership of Dusan Simovic on March 27th 1941 was prepared in it.
In Nemanjina street there are two significant educational institutions. Former boys school,todays elmentary school”Svetozar Miletic”,which is continuing tradition of the oldest school in town(founded in 1728), was built in 1913/1914.
In the same street is building of Agricultural faculty built in 1932 by plans of architect Gojko Tadic which was outhoused two times after the II World war.Bordered with JNA square and Nemanjina street there is a little park which is called by the citizens of Zemun “park in the hole”.It is founded on the beginning of the 20 th century and in the 1954 in its centered part was built monument dedicated to fallen fighters in II World war, which is act of a famous belgrade’s sculptor Jovan Kratohvil
