Novell Netware: Rights And Owners

OWNER
Every file has a owner.
The owner can be almost any type of account, but it is usually a user.
Which account which is the owner can be checked with FLAG or NDIR.
If you do not own a file, it does not waste your space.
If someone else than you, Admin and friends which can access your directories is owner of a file in your directory, your account has (most likely) been hacked.

VOLUMES
Each account is restricted.
It has certain directories where it can read files, and mostly somewhere it can write also.
These restrictions can be changed in every area IF you can find a login with a Account flag in the directory. When why is volumes interesting?

THE SPACE RESTRICTION ARE VOLUME SPECIFIC
Yes, some logins may upload GIGs to one volume, but none to another.
My experince is that if an account has no rights on a volume, often it has no restrictions on that drive.
"But if I can not map it, what's it good for?"
Of course you can map a volume!

MAKE SOMEONE ELSE OWNER OF FILES IN YOUR HOME DIRECTORY
Find a second login ("your's") which can access a directory and got ACCOUNT rights on the volume you which you belive you can install a lot to.
Give the first login RWCEFMA (or RWCEFMAS if you can) to the second login.
Now the first login ought to be able to map the volume, but sometimes you have to wait a day or two before it works, god knows why... (only occured on one specific server...) Install as much as you can and want to, and have fun!

COVER YOUR TRACKS
If you remove all rights in the directory where you installed your files for login 1, you cannot from that login see the files installed.
Doing this, probably no one will ever understand what has been done.
Even if the first account is removed, account two will still be able to access the files!
The only actual change is a decrease in free space, which usually goes unoticed if the account either is a big one or is unused (like TEST or printer servers)

Remember - this won't impress babes, they don't understand what you're doing... Err...
