Docks, industrial areas and places where bulk materials are stored often have to contend with extremely dirty surfaces. This becomes an environmental problem when the wind carries the dry particles to neighbouring residentential areas.
In the past, these surfaces used to be cleaned with water. Due to the considerable environmental damage to the harbour bottom and the groundwater, this method is no longer considered suitable. A normal road-cleaning vehicle can rarely cope effectively with the sheer volume of dirt. In addition, a standard sweeper unit often releases submicron-sized particles, which in many cases are environmentally hazardous and can trigger allergic reactions.
The vacuum-loader-mounted sweeper unit SWEEPVAC has a high vacuuming capacity, large quantities of air and a well-proportioned filter system. Large surfaces with lots of dust or particles that are difficult to handle e.g. iron ore pellets, can be cleaned effectively and in a way that is less harmful to the environment.
