Many roofs are covered with a layer of shingle as protection against sun and rain. The shingle is applied in a thick layer covering the whole roof area, which may be several thousands square meters. After a while, dust clogs up this shingle layer. The shingle then has to be removed and replaced with new, clean shingle. This process cannot be carried out by using heavy machinery, because flat roofs cannot support large surface loads. Using a building crane is expensive and in many cases impossible. Handling all these tonnes of shingle manually would also be expensive and time-consuming.

Using vacuum technology, shingle can simply be sucked off the roof from a distance. Once the roof has been cleared, new shingle can be blown up onto it using the same machine. The work can be handled out efficiently, with minimal personnel and low costs.
