1. HOUSE REEF Right in front of the diveshop. Our house reef offers a rich variety of hard and soft corals and a huge variety of marine creatures. A great place for night-dives and beginners wishing to take up scuba diving. Many of our Scuba courses are conducted in this area.Visibility: 5-30m. Depth Range: 0-30m. Travel Time: 1 minute.
2. TONGO POINT Lots of caves and crevices here, turtles are frequently seen in addition to nudibranch´s and many species of shells.Sharks can also be seen with increasing frequency. This spot offers good diving for both the beginner and more experienced diver. Visibility: 5-20m. Depth Range: 0-25m. Travel Time: 5 minutes. 3. TUBLE REEF A wall dive with a rich variety of soft corals, here you find many shells, big fan corals and plenty of colorful fish. Visibility: 5-20m. Depth Range: 0-25m Travel Time: 5 minutes.
4. WHITE BEACH This site has soft corals, gorgonians and sea fans. Here you can also see a lot of pelagic. fish and if you are really lucky you might spot a pilot whale! Fish feeding is another popular activity here.....the fish will feed from the palm of your hand. The beach is really beautiful and unspoiled ; if you wish you can have a picnic or barbecue on the beach after your dive. White beach is a very popular site for parties after a night dive too! Visibility: 5-30m. Depth Range: 5-25m. Travel Time: 10 minutes. 5. RONDA BAY Along the coast going north you find Ronda Bay, the newest divespot around Moalboal. You also find a small sanctuary here that is quite wellpreserved. Being a sandy area there are chances of spotting Rays here. Also lots of softcorrals and sea pens. Daytrips go out when requested to Ronda Bay with a White Beach dive on the way back. Visibility: 5-15m Depth Range: 5-30m Travel Time: 30 minutes 6. SUNKEN ISLAND This underwater island raises up from the ocean depths to 25m in the middle of Tanon Strait. As the site can be difficult to locate quickly, we always bring a local fisherman who can find it easily. When you descend from the surface down into the deep blue water you only have the decent line as a reference point until you can see the top of the island looming ahead of you at approximately 20 m depth. Currents can be strong here so it is not a dive for the inexperienced. A lot of pelagic marine life passes by here including schools of tuna, barracuda, manta rays and (if you´re lucky) a whaleshark. Frogfish and lion fish are usually in abundance at the top of the island. Visibility: 5-40m.Depth Range: 25m. Travel Time: 30 minutes.
7. PESCADOR ISLAND This giant mushroom rises from the seabed at 30m-40m. The underwater photographer has a marine paradise here. This is perhaps the best known dive site in the area. The famous "cathedral" is best dived at noon when light streams down into this giant underwater formation. Sharks are regularly seen at depths below 30 m. In the months of December to March you can see a big school of Hammerhead sharks if you go deep enough.(Don´t worry......no attacks on divers have ever occurred!) Macro photography is very good at shallower depths.Pescador has 650 species of hard coral, probably the most diverse in the world. Visibility: 5-40m. Depth Range: 5-40m Travel Time: 10 minutes. 8. BADIAN ISLAND This island you can see from Panagsama and it boosts a resort. Diving is quite okay though corral growth is slow here. Normally this is a stop on the way back from safaris. Visibility: 5-12m. Depth Range: 5-40m. Travel Time: 10 minutes. |
